Pronuptia Manchester Has Gone Bankrupt

I'm sorry to be the one to write this however i have been informed that Pronuptia manchester after what appears like years of poor service has gone under. I feel sorry for anyone who has dealt with them. We are now a matter of weeks before the wedding with no dress, no bridesmaids dress or sod all!

angelluvspink

Thanks for your reply. Iv received a letter from the liquidators and spoken to alfred angelo who are continuing with my order. Hope you get sorted too.

etaggart85

I had an appointment with them for 3 weekends ago to order my dress, turned up and the shop was shut. Phone number is cut and website is down.

I really hope you can sort your dress out, I believe they have a branch in Altrincham, perhaps you could see if they know any more?

Good luck and I really hope it works out for you...

Pronuptia Manchester - Disgusting Service 2013

My sister ordered her wedding dress and 6 bridesmaid dresses from this store. The service she received after she placed the order was disgraceful.

The staff were miserable and rude; and there was absolutely no happy atmosphere in the store.

The bridesmaids had their fittings in the menswear department because "there was a bride in the main room".

The staff would also have made my sister try on her wedding dress in the menswear department had we not mention that she too was a bride, and had made an appointment.

During the fitting my 14 year old daughter was harshly scratched with one of the pins, leaving a nasty red mark that was sore for days afterwards.

The staff showed no interest in my sister whatsoever.

They did not tell her about having any ribbons or anything put into her dress so that she could put it up during the reception.

They did not show us how the dress was to be fastened up.

We all left the store fuming with the service my sister received....a huge amount of money had been spent, and she didn't even get a smile from the staff.

When the dresses were collected they were going to put the wedding dress in a bin bag "because you haven't purchased a dress bag", there was no communication beforehand that this had to be purchased.

My sister was told to "hold your arms out", where the staff dumped the dresses onto her arms.

She was not helped out of the store.

The final straw came when the dresses were put on and they did not fit properly....they had screwed up the alterations big time (which my sister had paid a lot of money for on top of the price of the dresses).

I would strongly advise all future brides to steer clear of Pronuptia in Manchester.

Leeds And Huddersfield Mia Sposa

I met the Leeds Mia Sposa team at a wedding fair in Harrogate this is a family run business who also own the huddersfield Mia Sposa. All seemed well and i was dealt with in a professional way at the show, having tried on a dress i liked i later decided to go ahead and purchase the dress, i live in Middlesbrough and could have sourced the dress a lot closer but i wanted a friendly professional service and decided it would be worth the journey to leeds for the experience.

I spoke with the staff in the shop after the wedding fair and arranged an appointment to be measured and order the dress, the appointment would be the following month. The day before my appointment i tried phoning the shop to confirm everything and ask where to park not being local, to my dismay the telephone number came back as i'd dialled an incorrect number, i checked the number online and it was correct but i had no joy, i decided the best thing to do would be to get the Huddersfield shop number and ask what the problem was, i was completely gob smacked to see on there website home page a notice saying the leeds shop was now closed and the Huddersfield shop would be dealing with future enquires etc.

Not once did i have a missed call on my phone with anyone trying to contact me to explain the siuation, the customer service or lack of it is just not acceptable, partculary when dealing with such a important matter as a wedding dress!!

I would strongly advise people who use the Huddersfield shop to procede with caution and pay for goods on a credit card that provides insurance.

Awful Experience

I bought my bridal gown from Mia Sposa Leeds and also my 3 bridesmaids dresses. At first everything was great until I realised the dress I tried on was a size 14 and was a perfect fit although needed taken in slightly around the bust. You can imagine my horror to find out the dress they had ordered for me was a size 12 so a whole dress size smaller. The manager blamed me for putting on weight despite losing 5 pounds since I ordered the dress. She was damn right rude and made life very difficult in the run up to the wedding. The bridesmaids dresses were another story 1 was fine a perfect fit, however 2 others did not fit at all. 1 needed to be remade and the other needed numerous alterations. This was not a nice experience for myself or my bridesmaids as we had to make so many trips too and from the shop. When I questioned the service of the bridesmaids dresses the manager told me that it was due to the dressmaker having a baby. Well that says it all really. I would not recommend any other brides to use Mia Sposa as I was extremely let down. It really is a cowards way to blame the customer and they used this too much in my case.

I've Spend £900 For My Wedding Dress In Pron

I've spend £900 for my wedding dress in Pronuptia in Central London-they are now under the name MIA SPOSA bridal& Menswear- very conveniently considering all of the bad reviews they were receiving!

They took my measurements, and after couple of months they have called me saying that the dress is ready and ask me to come for my first fitting. I went there with my friend, although we did arrived much earlier than our appointed time, we thought that we can ask if they can see us earlier just in case they were not busy. The lady serving over there told us that unfortunately we cannot be served earlier as there is a bride that is trying on the dress at the moment- which we understood-no one like to have people around when you trying on the dress! But I asked if we could just quickly look at the cabinet with accessories, but I was told no.

After one hour we went back to the store. Now there were a lot of people and it was my turn to try on the dress and get it fitted ...I was less than impressed with the fact that there was another bride with two kids that was trying the dress at the same time as me, plus there were other people coming and going as they wished!!!!!

Furthermore and more importantly, my dress was too big in my bust (good 2 sizes and I'm 38C!!), to long and almost everything had to be alter! It looked like they made my dress too big deliberately! Why do they take measurements in the first place? When I did complained the lady told me that they only take measurements to check where does the bride "fit in the chart"? Wouldn't just be easier to get the measurements right in the first place -instead of wasting people's time and money?? What really upset me was the fact that I was told just then that the alterations had to be paid for, and that it is going to cost me £275!!!! Nothing about the fact that alterations were chargeable was EVER mentioned to me. I do not have this amount of money to spend for alteration, I am really stressed and worried, I just don't know what to do. I think that if they must charge for the alterations than it should have been included in the price of the dress! Moreover, they should learn how to communicate with the customers; I have got a feeling that they do the same unpleasant surprises to every bride!! Very Very DISSAPOINTING!

Wow thats really terrible, When spending large amounts of money you should expect nothing but first class service and treatment. I wish i had the money to have my own shop, ive worked in fashion and teach it now, its prob too late now but i would suggest you find a local seamstress who would charge less.

I have strated a website for ladies to buy and sell their gowns etc.. take a peek www.lovedboutique.com / www.lovedprom.com xx

I Just Need To Say How Happy I Was With The Servic

I just need to say how happy I was with the service my friend and I received in their Grimsby store today. The 2 girls working upstairs were soooooooo nice. The gave their time and attention to meet all my friends requirements. Nothing was too much trouble including additional accessories. They were attentive, truthful and happy. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. Thanks for a pleasant experience and helping my friend to find the perfect dress. Excellent!

Terrible!!!!!!!!!! Please Be Warned Bef

TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

Please be warned before you spend any money here. All very nice friendly and helpful until you have paid.

Pronuptia, Huddersfield (also own Leeds store) have left me 3 days before christmas with a dress that does not fit.

The dresses where meant to arrive start of December and came 6 days before the shop shuts before Christmas.

I arranged for my fitting explaining I would be late due to work commitments travelled over an hour and when I arrived the shop was shut. When I spoke to the owner the next day she accused me of lieing, that I was later than I said, and told me that unless I could get to the shop by lunchtime that day then she would not do the work and it was tough. The shop does not open again until after the wedding.

No custmer care skills and unwillingness to see people out of typical working hours.

Please be warned!!!!

This 'customer' was offered several alternative appointments for fittings, including weekends (when fittings are not normally undertaken) and after normal hours when the shop was shut. Having accepted the latter, she failed to arrive for her appointment and did not have the courtesy to phone advising she was going to be late. 35 minutes after she was due the owner gave up and went home (she has a life as well). This 'review' is a fabrication of events. Since when does 'good service' mean hanging around for someone on the off chance they might turn up? It is telling that the Bride had nothing but praise for the service she received...

PeterJGriggs

This review would be helpful if it was in anyway a true reflection of the real circumstances! This customer was offered a number of separate appointment options in the weeks approaching the wedding date and declined them all. Finally, she agreed to an appointment at 4:30 with the owner agreeing to stay late to deal with her (the shop closes at 4:45). By 5:10, 40 minutes after the agreed appointment time, she had failed to appear. No telephone call to advise of her lateness. Precisely how long did this person expect the owner to stay on the chance she may turn up? What bad manners and to then libel the business in such a manner is disgusting. Any reasonable person would at least have displayed the commonsense and decency to pick up the telephone and tell the person waiting that they had been delayed. If the dress didn't fit then only one person was to blame.... and it wasn't the business owner.

Pronuptia Huddersfield Is The Best Place To Go For

Pronuptia HUDDERSFIELD is the best place to go for both value for money and the service. The staff there are extremely passionate about their jobs and strive to compliment and serve their customers with respect and excitement. The ladies who have served me throughout my dress process have been excellent and so helpful. They didn't rush or pressure me into purchasing anything when I went, if anything they tried their hardest to suit my style to what they had in stock. If I didn't like something about the dress they'd recommend something else that might work. I tried on at least 8 dresses within an hour. The ladies know exactly what suits who best and strive to make it an exciting and memorable experience for both Bride and visitors.

I have purchased my perfect and beautiful dress from here and also my head-dress. They have totally gone the extra mile for me they are absolutely amazing.

May be other branches across the country have had bad reviews but I can promise that if you go to Huddersfield or Leeds you will not be disappointed! :D Ive recommended them to many brides-to-be already.

Our wedding is in 2 weeks and I ordered the dress in March. Can't wait. Thank you Pronuptia. AMAZING!
