Nice Mid Sized Theatre
Tucked away behind the main cinemas in Leicester Square in the alley that goes to China Town is the Leicester Square Theatre. It's a fairly small affair with two rooms, the main room and the lounge. We went to see Stewart Lee in the main room. It's got two bars inside making it much easier to grab drinks and nibbles before and during the interval. Bar staff were friendly for a change and didn't look hacked off when all I wanted was tap water.
Seats were standard fare, we sat in the third row and had a great view. The one thing that keep bothering me was the amount of minute flies that appear to have gotten in. I guess that's what you get in a basement in London...
I think it's a nice venue to watch stand up. Not too large as to feel impersonal but not too small that it feels embarrassingly intimate.
