Several years ago I was unfortunate enough to suffer a knee injury that gradually affected my ability to ride my motorcycle. Having been a biker for 35 years this was a situation that I was hoping never to encounter. My particular disability means that conventional gear changing causes unbearable knee pain, which affects my riding and concentration. I was ready to hang up my boots when a bit of research on the 'net led me to Kliktronic, a company specialising in hand switch operated gear changers for motorcycle engine based vehicles.

I bought one of their units and then realised that I needed a bracket to fit my BMW R1200GSA, Klictronic to the rescue - they not only created one for me but modified the handlebar switch to suit this particular bike. Communication with the company was always first rate and the knowledge and skill of their staff is second to none.

Since fitting the unit my left foot is now redundant and happily sits on the foot peg, free from any pain. The switch gear takes a bit of getting used to but once mastered, you wonder why all bikes don't have them fitted as standard!

I fitted this unit nearly two years ago and have covered 12,000 miles, touring UK and abroad. It's fair to say I am a quick rider and this unit changes gear, quite literally, at the flick of the switch.
