Since moving into my first property, I've faced persistent harassment from TV Licensing, despite never having a TV license or the need for one. Their strongly worded letters, filled with red capitals and fake deadlines, have been threatening and caused significant emotional distress, negatively impacting my mental health. The letters, which falsely claim someone will visit my property on specified dates, have made me anxious, though no one has ever shown up. This has occurred three times in 2023, and the letters continue, even though I've done nothing wrong.

As someone uninterested in their services, I find the BBC's behavior reprehensible and their marketing tactics akin to criminality. It's perplexing how they evade consequences for sending such threatening letters, creating an experience reminiscent of living under an oppressive rule.

I pay for my TV Licence. Always have. 30+ years. But dealing online with this website is a poor poor experience.

Having paid for a licence for my daughters student house, they moved out after 9 months, and then the TVLA start chasing with threatening letters.

She moved back in, new housemates and time to renew a licence. But all TVLA can do is backdate it 4 months to when the old one expired, despite noone having been there and without confirming that point to me. Now the new licence will run out '3 months early' and I will not buy another licence just for that.

The real point is that the tvlicensing.co.uk website is officious, nasty and hard to use. Its no wonder they will scrap the system as the means to fund the BBC. Just put it on everyone's taxes and avoid the nastiness behind this interface.
