My Husband And I Had Our Third Holiday To Dubai In
My husband and I had our third holiday to Dubai in September, and did 2 nights in the Burj al Arab, and 3 nights in Al Maha. Both completely different experiences and both superb. We were upgraded to a 2 bed suite at the Burj free of charge, and had two sitting rooms, two dining areas, a kitchen, and two huge bedrooms with huge en suites, plus a dressing room - unbelievable! Then on to Al Maha which was just divine. The private pools are just gorgeous, and nightly skinny dipping is a must here. The staff were excellent, particular in the restaurant and the Bar - lovely strawberry daiquiris. The trip on the dunes for sunset was amazing! The sand is gold and orange in the sunlight.
We will definitely be coming back. The Arabian Oryx also come right up to your back door and graze next to you - part of your fee goes towards keeping them safe in their natural environment, which is nice to know. I could go on and on...

Al Maha Desert Resort Is Definitely One Of Those "
Al Maha Desert Resort is definitely one of those "you have to go once in your life" experiences. Each of the 40 suites is totally self contained and (most are) surrounded by trees / bushes, so you have complete privacy to do whatever takes your fancy in your own pool...
Included in the price are the choice of 2 x activities each day which range from riding a camel into the dunes to watch the sun-set, to the ultimate off-road experience of being driven around the dunes in a 4x4. If you go, opt for an evening picnic in the desert. (There is a charge for this unless you are on your honeymoon). You will be dropped in the middle of the desert at the a pre-prepared site of a picnic with wine all by torch-light (and/or the light of the stars). Amazing experience! Al Maha is far from cheap, but you get what you pay for....
