The Hotel Oasis Playa Coco Rooms Were Well Furnish
The Hotel Oasis Playa Coco rooms were well furnished and beach was ok, but not worth a 10 hour flight. Very, very poor food. Isolated location in Cuba. It is not worth a 10hr flight to a remote spot in Cuba to lie on a beach with little else to do and poor food to eat.
Good Points, None. Bad Points, Food, Accomodation,
Good points, none. Bad points, Food, accomodation, entertainment, kids club, dirty and basic amenities. I would not recomend Hotel Oasis Playa Coco.

Absolutely Fantastic Holiday For The Price We Were
Absolutely fantastic holiday for the price we were well looked after and everyone was very helpful nothing was too much trouble for them. Would certainly go there again only one thing that was not good jelly fish = thousands of them = but at least we could get away from them on the other beach.

Cuba Is A Beautiful Place But There Is A Problem I
Cuba is a beautiful place but there is a problem in this hotel the Hotel Oasis Playa Coco, which is a big one. Do not take babies under 18 months as the food is very low choice, my children ate pasta for 2 weeks and cereal.

Flights: Our Flights Were With Thomas Cook Ai
Flights:
Our flights were with Thomas Cook airlines, and were really good. The selection of in flight entertainment was good and the legroom was not too bad. The airline food wasn't up to much but then I have never had a decent meal on a flight yet. It's a long flight but it really is worth it when you get there.
Hotel: Cayo Coco, Hotel Oasis Playa Coco
You get what you pay for with hotels and this hotel is no exception. However, to be honest it was really quite nice and had everything that we wanted. It does seem to be in the middle of nowhere (which is actually quite nice) but that does mean that there isn't really anywhere to walk to outside the hotel.
The rooms are basic but clean and perfectly adequate. The mini-fridge in the rooms is an added bonus. Maid service is excellent. The only thing that we didn't like with the room was the fact that it was on the ground floor.
The staff at the hotel are all really friendly and quite willing to help if you have any questions or problems.
The facilities at the hotel are good. There are two pools, both of which are clean. The large pool is fairly lively during the daytime and the sun loungers get taken early on in the day. However, the smaller pool is much quieter and we found it easy to get sun loungers and parasols at most times during the day. The smaller pool has the added bonus of an ice cream parlour.
The food is really good. The main buffet has a great selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's easy to find something for everyone. There is also a grill in the buffet which cooks meat or seafood to order which is great. There is then a beach snack bar which serves pizzas and fresh BBQ/Grilled food, which is a great place to have lunch by the sea. There are three Al a Carte restaurants available to book. The Japanese is amazing and one definitely not to miss. The food is cooked at your table and is delicious. It's a great atmosphere and makes for an entertaining evening. The Italian Restaurant is much quieter but nice as well. The food is good but not as impressive as the Japanese. The third Al a Carte is a seafood restaurant which we didn't try.
Drinks are in plentiful supply but it is DEFINITELY worth taking your own insulated mug as they are served in tiny cups and sometimes run out. Everybody except us had their own mugs!
The entertainment at the hotel is not up to much. It's the usual nightly variety of entertainment that you get in any foreign hotel. However, there is a piano bar in reception with an excellent piano player, which makes for a much better evening. There is also a nightly disco.
The beach at the hotel is amazing. It's easily one of the best beaches I've ever been to. It is absolutely beautiful and you can walk for miles in either direction. The only downside to it is that it is a bit rocky at one end. However, the rest of the beach is lovely, brilliant white sand and crystal clear water. The water is really shallow and warm, but the best thing is that there is an amazing amount of fish that you can paddle around and feed. Definitely take a snorkel with you as there is a small coral reef just off the beach that you can also paddle out too. It's well worth snorkelling around as it is an amazing sight. Also take some bread or bananas down from the buffet as the fish come in their hundreds when they know they are getting fed.
Excursions:
We did two Thomas Cook excursions whilst staying at the Oasis Playa Coco. The first was the Speedboats afternoon in Cayo Guillermo which was excellent. You spend the afternoon driving a two person speed boat around a lagoon following a tour guide. You then get a chance to snorkel in the lagoon which is beautiful. Overall as a trip it's really good value for money and a great, fun afternoon out.
The other excursion that we did was the day trip to Havana. This was also a great day out and is recommended. You fly from Cayo Coco to Havana which is only an hour so it's not a bad journey. You get to see a good selection of places including the modern part of the city and the historic parts, with a great tour guide.
Overall:
A brilliant holiday, cheap and cheerful in an amazing country. highly recommended. Would definitely go again.
