Guernsey, La Trelade Country House Hotel, St Martins

If you need a good nights sleep in Guernsey, don't go to La Trelade hotel. There is a constant noise like a generator from 5.30am in the morning that vibrates throughout the hotel. Another guest I heard complaining said it was like a hoover outside the door of their room all night. As a result I was too tired to make use of my time in Guernsey and cancelled our day trip to Sark.

Also, I went with my mum and my sister and three children. We were told we could not sit together for breakfast for'health and safety reasons'. There were 6 of us. Too many apparently.

My travel company, Island Gettaway did nothing to resolve the problem other than telling me to let my children go out without me while I caught up on my sleep.

We had arranged to store bikes at the hotel. On the third night we were told we could not store our bikes as there was no room anywhere.

All in all we couldnt wait to leave.
