Hotel Rocamarina

Have just returned from a week holiday at the Rocamarina. Hotel and grounds are spotless clean. Pool area is like new. Food is ok but not up to same standard as other golds I've been to. The service from waiters etc is excellent. The entertainment is not good for an adult only hotel. Silly childish games during day and a lot of flaffing about til the entertainment starts at 10p.m.To tell the truth by then we were fed up, although one night was Syd Little of Little and Large. Always thought he was a wus.I was pleasently surprised. I think being in the duo ruined him for me.However he was brilliant singing a lot of old 50s and 60s favourites and telling jokes I hadn't heard before. The rest of the entertainment was not good and childish quiz's.

FOOD PLENTIFUL AND ON THE WHOLE TASTY, BUT CAN GET BLAND AND SOMETIMES COLD.

LONG WAY FROM CALA-DOR ITS IN CALA - EGOS 5 MINS BY TAXI.

OVERALL OK BUT WOULD TRY SOMEWHERE ELSE FIRST NEXT TIME.

What a wonderful holiday we had. No bad comments to make. Everyone went out of there way to make our stay a pleasure and they did just that. I highly recommend this hotel if you are under 40 its not for you. Has a lot of guests are over 50. It's a long time since we have had such a great holiday and we would love to go back.

great location for a quiet holiday, room was a good size and plenty of wardrobe space great place for all aged adults only downside to holiday was never any beds around pool but beach only 2 minute walk so no problem

This was my first time in Majorca and I was recommended the Rocamarina Hotel by the travel agent I booked with. Sure enough, the hotel was excellent! The food was good, and the service and rooms were fantastic. The entertainment was OK. However, the only downside to this hotel is the SUNBEDS as there are not enough. If you are one of those people who are happy to start queuing at 8.30am and then join the mad rush to get a bed, then this hotel is OK for you, but if not, then you should do what I did and hire a car and go to the many idyllic beaches around the area. It is such a shame that this hotel had to let itself down by the shambles surrounding the sunbeds.

Thomson staff have no geographical knowledge of the Cala D Or area, and we had to read off cards at the welcome meeting at the Rocamarina Hotel. Inaccurate information was given about the room. There is not a minibar there or a kettle provided, but you have to buy tea/coffee at the bar (there's a surprise), so be warned!

Thomson staff were very unhelpful. We booked a catamaran excursion, and there was bad weather on the day. Thomson were unwilling to try and reschedule, and they just said "unless you've got a medical note, you have to go on the trip". A refund wasn't an option. The crew on-board only spoke Spanish or German, and there was no safety or trip information available. The sea that morning was so rough, an elderly lady almost went overboard, but luckily 3 of the passengers came to her rescue.

Getting a sunbed was like the Debenhams sale. At 9am people were charging down to the pool armed with their towels to reserve a sunbed.

As you sit down to eat your evening meal, you are asked to pay on the spot for whatever drinks you want, which is quite inconvenient.

The hotels beach was very hazardous. There were bits of broken glass scattered about, and a piece actually went into the sole of my sandal (lucky I had them on), so be warned. Always wear strong sandals!

Overall, it is a good hotel, it was just a shame about the inexperience of the Thomson staff.

The entertainment at the Rocamarina Hotel in Cala D Or was really good, but you did not feel pressured into joining in if you didn't want to. The lad in charge of the entertainment was very talented and a nice guy with it. Came back on Sunday and will definitely be visiting the Thomson shop next Saturday to book for next year. Some people told me that Thomson Gold was for old people. Don't you believe it, as there was a good mix of young couples and very with it older couples. We were treated with respect, and not forgetting, there was not one timeshare person all week!!

Rocamarina is a welcoming friendly hotel that made us feel so comfortable in every way staff couldn't be more helpful.

Rocamarina Hotel - Although booked with Thomsons we were given false information. We booked a superior room which was very disappointing. Small pool and very small area for sun bathing, food was basic and repetative, entertainment was again poor - all this meant that we had to spend more time and money for both eating out and entertainment.

I really enjoyed my stay at Rocamarina Hotel, couldn't fault it at all. The staff really are highly trained, attention to detail is amazing! I have had many package holidays over the years, mostly in 3 or 4 star accomodation in the Mediterranean areas, I found the Rocamarina hotel to be exceptional in every way, far exceeded my expectations. This hotel works hard to make every guest feel really special. Go there, you will be glad you did!
