Alykanas, Hotel Letsos

If you want to enjoy your holiday DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL

The accommodation is below basic, was not clea and even the basics were missing. There wasn't a kettle or even a pan to boil water for a cup of tea.

The shower/toilet was a joke, shower flooded flat when used, dirty/not cleaned

TV never worked and bed linen not changed.

Was extremely noisy in the evening into the early hours, had to get earplugs to get some sleep.

I complained several days in a row, nothing was done. The evening staff were totally ignorant/rude.

To say "you get what you pay for" is an understatement where this hotel is concerned.

Do yourselves a favour and pay a little extra and book a different hotel.

The resort itself, shops, restaurants and people are fantastic, give them 10/10. Have already booked for next year but NOT AT THE LETSOS

Was our 3rd visit.when we arrived our room wasn't available for the first night.so we had to go to another hotel which was abit of a track to bars and restaurants.will not be going here again.

I booked the Letsos hotel now known as The LETS NOT as we had stayed there before however we were given a studio in the block across the road (I know these as The Stonebrige) the owner of the letsos bought these in the winter. I have always said the rooms /apartments in Greece are basic but these were worse than basic. For a start the double bed was made up with 4 single sheets which I would have been ashamed to use as dog bedding but they were clean, the shower flooded the bathroom and half the so called kitchen every time we used it. The bathroom light gave out a very dim blue light and if we needed to use it in the dark we had no chance (do they think we are all drug users and use these bulbs so you cant see the veins).The maid came nearly every day but only gave a quick sweep round and emptied the bin, our beddingwas only changed once and the towels (rags) were changed twice. We always go self catering but eat out every meal good job as we would not have been able to cook on the hotplate provided as it was a danger and we struggled to make a coffee.When we complained to the very arrogant owner he said he was full then he told us he did not speak english which I know is untrue as it was ok last time we stayed there and he had a board out saying rooms to let.

When I told him we had booked the letsos because of the pictures of the hotel and rooms on the internet and the room we had did not match these he said he did not choose the internet content.

I think you should take a look at the coments and the pictures people have put on trip advisor.

Dirty, dark rooms and bathroom in the central building. Aftrer one day they sent us to another room out of hotel ( overbooking), situated on cafe roof ( same owner). That was really discusting - very old, broken furniture, hair on the bed, bathroom very old and dirty. TV didn't work and view from the balcony on the stairs of next building. We didn't stay there and we lost prepayment....Owner was very rude.

Μην παρε εκει ποτε ,εκτος και δεν σας ενοχλει η βρωμια.

Τα δωματια δεν καθαριζονται σωστα και σιγουρα θα βρειτε κατι βρωμικο απο τον προηγουμενο που εμενε στο δωματιο.

Στο εστιατοριο τα τραπεζια δεν καθαριζονται και τραπεζομαντηλα δεν αλλαχτηκαν ποτε.

Απλα μην πατε εκει θα το μετανιωσετε..

Just got back from 4 weeks in the Letsos, we have stayed in many places over the years in Alykanas and been happy with most and can honestly say the Letsos was brilliant, the staff were very friendly, (thanks Mel for everything) and the rooms were fine, lovely big fridge freezer, bed linen changed regular and adequate cooking facilities, the pool and poolbar area was lovely and plenty of sunbeds, all in all no complaints whatsoever. For sure a worst experience ever.

I was holidaying there July 2009. After reading reviews, friend and I booked 2 weeks, but we insisted to have a room in the newer part of hotel. Unfortunately, when we arrived we realized that we are in old part and that there was no way to change it. We didn't use kitchen because we love "benefits of self catering", but to prepare a dissent meal in that kitchen? I dont think it's possible. Plus the refrigerator was leaking all the time, I was scared not to get electrified.

But the main problem was water. First several days we had no hot water. After several visits to the owner's wife, we got the hot water, but then there was ONLY hot. We had no cold or mild!!!! So put yourself on sun all day long and then to the hot shower It was horrible, but the owners didn't care to call the plumber again, so the last 4 days we just stopped complaining.

Second was the noise. We had a room with the pool view and it was incredibly noisy. There where 2 fountains, one in center of the pool and one just under our windows, so it sounded like Niagara Falls. Plus the owner's son is some kind of DJ, and when he gets company of young girls, the result is very loud music till 2-3 am sometimes. Very unprofessional. The result was that for 3 nights because of the noise, we just had to close both window layers. That much about breathing nice Greek sea air.

Alykanas and Alykes are nice, Zakynthos is beautiful, fun, fresh and positive and with a rented car you can have a time of your life. But Letsos is a low budget, not funny horror movie. My personal attitude is that tourist association Greece should get involved there, it's a shame what those people are doing to the tourists.

We stayed at the letsos in the middle of september and thought it was really nice ,beds were changed twice a week towels every other day and if you asked the cleaner for towels in between she gladly gave them us,ok the air con was a little pricey 100 euros for two weeks but the price we paid for the holiday was good so we did nt mind.family run place ,we found everyone friendly pool and bar recently refurbished and lovely and clean.Self catering tools were scarce but we ate out at many of the resurants in alakanas which were reasonably priced about 20 euros for a meal for two and a drink.the train trip is a must up the mountains to a museum which was quaint ,then on to a resurant to a wine tasting for a free glass or two of local wine very strong !!Went on a trip to the shipwreck and blue caves really nice the sea is so so blue.We are returning next august as we enjoyed it so much the people are so friendly we loved it .Remember your going to greece so it is a bit behind the times so what do people expect i really cant believe what some people write,we loved it.

The Lestos Hotel Apart has to be the best hotel I have ever stayed in, and yes some of you may say im exagerating but it was most definatly a memberable experience! The room was lovely, the only problem was that the walls were rather thin, so it could get loud at night with the drunken punters, the cleaner changed the sheets every other day and the view of the mountains were amazing. The bar workers were lovely and kind, the family that runs the hotel are very polite. The pool was good, although not very big it was always clean. Some trips I would advise you to go on would be the Wine tasting on the little train and also the greek night (also on the little train), also consider taking a trip into zante town. All of these trips provide a memerable experience of zante and its culture. The beach was very nice, it was clean and sunbeds only cost 1 euro each!!!!, but beware if you dont do well in hot temperatures, do not go to zante around the summertime as during the day "12 till 3" it can get extremely hot...Appart from that I would definatly go back, were already thinking of going back next year!

The hotel letsos is not fit for a dog, i,ll explain the first day was a nightmare. had no room ready for me & my family, not at all friendly. finally give us keys for room in old block. i,m an electrician and not seen anything so dangerous cables lights fuseboard had no cover exposed live cables for my daughters to touch this was a nightmare. we had other problems windows not locking were my daughters were staying. i was getting a bit angry at this time, i confronted the manager. the airconditioning i paid for one night was 7 euros, the controller is back in england now, he tried to charge me 100euros i laughed in this mans face.the beach is fantastic which made the holiday a nice break...
