2 Week Holiday In The Sun

We had a very enjoyable time here but a few minor things would not let us give it full marks. Arriving late we were just shown to our room and not told at that time that they only supply the first toilet roll and you then have to get your own. Owners made a fuss of people who spend money at the bar or buying meals there, not once did either of them ask us if there was anything we required. We found out later that you can get a local bus just outside the airport to the apartments for 3.70 euros each and bus stop 25 is a 2 minute walk down to Irida. The pool is lovely to sit around and the shops are a 10-15 minute walk away. Gorty's supermarket is nearby (up from apartments) but their prices are higher, we preferred the Thisvi mini supermarket which you pass heading for the beach. There are 2 paths marked "to the beach", the first one you come to is an easy walk straight downhill and the next is stepped. We had to tie the shower head up so take something with you for this and the hot water is heated by solar panels so don't expect to have a hot shower in the morning and it's first come first served after 5pm because 1 tank serves 6 apartments so you need to get there early.if you want a hot shower. Rooms have 2 balconies and room 4 gets the sun all day but being above the bar means you get the loud music till after 1am. Cleo's grasp of english seems poor so make sure she understands your requirements.

Room Tip:An upstairs room is better because Makis puts sprinklers on all day for the garden and this can flood downstairs balconies making it difficult to dry clothes.

Stayed June 2012, travelled as a couple

We Have Just Come Back From The Irida Apartments A

We have just come back from the Irida Apartments and it is so great, we are going back in September. We had a little house with bedroom and balcony upstairs. The staff are fabulous and very helpful. The place is clean and comfortable and everybody, staff and guests, are like old friends. We love it!!! The beach is a 3 minute walk away but close to the bus stops so you can go anywhere on the island with the minimum of fuss. It is the most brilliant holiday we have had. Cleo, you are a darling, love you to bits and see you in September.

A Lot Of Tlc Is Needed At The Ireda, Plus The Owne

A lot of TLC is needed at the Ireda, plus the owner being a bit more hands on and being involved with the guests. It could be a gold mine if a little thought went into the place and people were made to feel welcome. Greeting guests when they arrive in the early hours should be compulsory, instead of leaving a chalkboard next to the bar with a map of your room pinned to it, and your keys left in your apartment door.

It Was Really Close To Everyhting. Certain Styles

It was really close to everyhting. Certain styles of apartments were better than others, the best had balcony's or patios. Bar prices were extortionate. Not suitable for under fives due to lack of facilities in the apartments. Lots of room in your apartments. Great pool area. Great holiday great area - a great place for anyone with children over five.

We Would Gladly Return To Stalis, But Never Again

We would gladly return to Stalis, but never again to Irida apartments.

As someone said, you go once then you know better for next year.

And don't be fooled by the advertising about Nana beach being just 5 min away - it is, but is NOT open for other then the resort's customers, Irida is not part of the resort.
