Airport: - Arrival At Airport Took Over Two Hours,

Airport: - Arrival at airport took over two hours, there was a delay in checking the visas this was due to the fact many people did not realise they had to complete the visa form before they got to the passport desk.

Hotel: - Arrival at Les Orangers lady receptionist was not very welcoming and hardly said a word. There was no welcome drink offered and the porter put our all inclusive bracelets on. The hotel is old and tired but clean.

Room: - We were taken to our room which was not ready and still being cleaned. The room was basic but clean each room has a portal tv with a poor signal, BBC world and CNN are the only English channels. Beds were two singles but comfortable and clean. Air conditioning noisy but kept the room cool. The room had no tea or coffee making facilities or mini bar, a hairdryer could be hired from the reception. The room was provided with bathrobes, slippers and basic toiletries. Bathroom was clean and had bath with shower overhead and some of the lights bulbs were blown.

Food: - The food was very good overall. Breakfast was continental and the same every day with cakes breads, cheeses and hams ect. The chefs on the omelette bar made a nice fresh omelette. Lunch was a choice of pastas, meats and the chefs cooking a different dish each day. The cakes are wonderful and well worth trying. Dinner was similar to lunch with the same sort of choices from meats to pastas and chefs cooking fresh dishes. The restaurant at the beach is well worth a try but flies do sit on the food so be careful.

Waiters: - some waiters gave excellent service whilst others only seemed to bother with customers that gave them tips.

Beach or Pool:- The beach is better than the pool plus it is private.

Entertainment: - The entertainment staff worked hard and long hours. During the day there are various activities from beach volleyball to water aerobics. The evening entertainment was a mixture shows and audience participation similar to Butlins in the 1970's. The nightclub was closed during our stay. The entertainment was delivered in German, English and French.

Children: - There is a children pool and playground. The mini club hold a mini disco in the evening again this is done in German, English and French.

Shopping: - Yasmine Hammamet is easier for shopping than Hammamet with less hassle. When bartering always offer less than a quarter of the price. We brought statue at 26 dinar the shop keeper wanted 186 dinar so bartering paid off. Shop keepers do not like no for an answer so walk away to get the price you want when bartering. Tricks the shop keepers use to get you into their shops, "How much does this cost in UK? Have you seen a rug or carpet being made? We do not hassle you when you look (they do).

Be aware: - Help and advice is hardly ever free in Tunisia. When using a cab be aware of them taking you to family ran shops. When out shopping the locals often say I work at your hotel in the kitchen. When locals offer to give directions or show you the way they always want a good tip. Locals selling nuts will give you a bag as a gift then ask a lot of money for them. Locals walk around with a flowered hat and offer to take a picture of you with them for free again they want money.

Overall the holiday was good and we are glad we went.

Having Enjoyed Our Two Week Adult Family Holiday,

Having enjoyed our two week adult family holiday, I arrived home and immediately booked to return for a week on the 27th August 08 with my two children (18 & 22). Staff were very friendly. Gardens were beautiful throughout the hotel grounds. The hotel was of a high standard and well kempt. A wide selection of foods were available throughout the day/evening. The beach area was clean and staff were available to help with sunbeds.

There were hotel based activities available for all ages and the evening entertainment appeared to cater for all ages.

The Whole Holiday Was Amazing, From Arriving At Le

The whole holiday was amazing, from arriving at Les Orangers in Hammamet to leaving, we were met with the most fantastic service, kindest people and best entertainment.

The food changed every evening and lunch time, and there were paninis and pizzas around the clock for our son, who has a bottomless pit of a stomach.

The animation was unbelievable, and the team were relentless in their efforts to entertain. Every evening the shows were exciting and different, and in two weeks we never saw the same show twice, so we never needed to venture out.

We did not use the kiddies club through choice. However, we heard no grumbles from those who did.

The food was fresh, healthy and tasty, with a wide range of choice and fresh fruit, fish, vegetables and meats.

The maids tend to the rooms daily and replace bedding and towels whether they need it or not, and there were maintenance and cleaners around every turn.

I was surprised at how lush Les Orangers is with lots of vegetation and colour.

The complex is on the beach and it is beautiful.

We are telling any one that will listen to us about Les Orangers, and we are off to the travel Agents on Saturday to book for next year.

Everything Was So Well Organised At Les Orangers B

Everything was so well organised at Les Orangers Beach Resort and if I decide to return to Tunisia I would stay there again. I would also have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it to anyone - couples or families.

We Had A Fantastic Week At Hammamet, Les Orangers

We had a fantastic week at Hammamet, Les Orangers Beach Resort. We were so relaxed, we only left the hotel once! The facilities were fantastic, the staff friendly and our 6 year old daughter was in her element. The choice of food was amazing - you needn't have the same meal twice - there was so much choice. Being all-inclusive, there was always food around - if you wanted to eat at mid-night, you could. We have no negative comments about this wonderful place.

I Travelled With My Parents, Partner And Two Boys,

I travelled with my parents, partner and two boys, one under ten, and one a grumpy teenager to Les Orangers Beach resort in Hammamet, Tunisia. I had also read some bad reports, worryingly on the night before I travelled. On arrival and throughout the entire week my fears were laid to rest.

The decor in our room was maybe a little tired, but after the first day of sun it really didn't matter. The food was plentiful and varied, making my boys try alternatives to the usual muck they demand at home. Being all inclusive meant different ways of dining too, and the beach fronted restaurant was terrific. Our waiter Saidi was charming. In fact all the staff were extremely helpful, especially when we were kept awake by the ubiquitous English Lager Louts one night. The threat to remove them from the hotel worked a treat. The entertainment team worked very hard, and the facilities were excellent.

In response to some of the comments I read, If people want English food and culture then don't go abroad, and go to Blackpool. Otherwise, for a fantastic hotel with excellent staff and facilities in a lovely location with a taste of foreign culture/sunshine, this really was a good choice. For my parents this was their fourth time at the hotel, which has to be a terrific recommendation. I would definitely consider returning.

When We First Arrived At Les Orangers Beach Resort

When we first arrived at Les Orangers Beach Resort we were nothing short of horrified. Everything was wrong, bedroom had only 3 beds and we were 4, we were asked to share. Light fittings hanging out of the ceiling, broken sink, bidet, rusty bath. Restaurant hectic, gym equipment unusable, poolside and beach toilets unusable and foul. Queues for food and drinks, both pools dirty missing tiles etc. However, the staff were helpful and friendly and rectified our problems as best as they could. Entertainment team worked very hard and were non invasive, maids came each day. Really, the hotel needs to close and be completely refurbished as it is definitely NOT 3 star. Tour operators should not sell holidays at this hotel until significant improvements are made, also get rid of the old deckchairs on the beach and get sunbeds.
