Don’t Say You Wasn’t Warned!

After booking after returning from Tenerife in June

I was told my credit card had declined

I was then told I could pay £35 per day with £400 deposit that I was told was a holding deposit and would not leave my bank

One of many lies

It was 33 days before my deposit was returned to my bank account and green motion have also taken £68 out of my account on two separate occasions 1st one 8/8/24 and also today 3/10/24 this they say is for admin charges of which I don’t owe them any admin charges of which they now say it is an admin error.

This is in my opinion

Obtaining money by deception.

if you notice you may get it back if not how many times will they try it is absolutely disgusting

First thing they say when you get to their office when you query the extra costs

Have you read the terms and conditions.

You silly sausages who has time to read all of life’s terms and conditions these days??

Just make it clear what we have got to pay when we are booking as not everyone is going to be able to budget for your misleading price hikes!!!

Booked And Paid ( In Full ) For A Rental Car. Told

Booked and paid ( in full ) for a rental car. Told credit card declined ( no reason given ). Offered me to pay extra £35 per day to take the car. ( 3 times the price I had paid for ). I declined and no refund returned.

 Also heard that if you give them a good review they will give you a discount. That say's it all keep well clear

More Than Satisfied

When we arrived at the car pick up we discovered that the website which had booked us with Green Motion hadn't taken into consideration the change in opening times in October and had given us the summer opening times. We needed to be at the airport by 8.55am at the latest but the office didn't open until 8am. They assured us that they would do everything they could to get us to the airport on time and they did. The gentleman on duty that morning arrived at 7.45, checked the car immediately did the necessary paperwork and got us on our way to the airport at 7.55am. For us this was an excellent service which illustrated the excellence of this firm's personnel.

Helpful, Friendly Staff

I was really pleased with the car I hired, unfortunately I got a flat tyre not knowing if it was just flat or a puncture and thought I would be charged a lot for this. The staff were thorough when they checked the car and said that the tyre only needed to be inflated so I was not charged any extra. The staff were very friendly and I found them to be helpful. Would be improved if they had an extra staff member on the desk as the one person answering the phone and dealing with bookings was very busy.

Never Book With Them !!!

I returned my car and when the guy came back after Checking the vehicle he said some plastic bit is missing from outside they charged my card even they said they won’t until investigation is not complete! Also charged for fuel they told me I returned with 3 bars but was 4 bars and when I left place with a car one bar fall down in minutes so also be aware of that , don’t trust them take pictures of the car when collecting, fuel how many km you can go with it they will try to rip off every single penny they can ! Disgusting ! never again ! Not about money about how dishonest they are !

From Hero To Zero In Just A Few Weeks

It just shows how a company can go from excellent to shocking an a short period of time.

Last time we booked we had excellent service and even a free unasked for upgrade but this time.

We paid for a Golf or equivalent and got a Peugeot 208 as they didn’t have one in. So we got a group or two less that we paid for totally unacceptable.

Secondly we took car back and a scratch/mark less than half a little finger nail in width was spotted. Funny the rest of the car was dirty from road dirt but this just happened to be spotted.or did it. When we said it wasn’t there a manager came and it was not charged for. We found out later staff are on a £10 incentive to find marks. Totally not acceptable.

Thirdly we had to wait 45 minutes to be taken back to the airport with one of the staff saying don’t worry I’m not in a hurry. Well we had a plane to catch totally unacceptable.

So as you see not a good experience.

Appalling Do Not Use, Plenty Of Much Better Companies There

I rented a car from East midlands airport branch.

When collecting a car weather was bad, snowy and freezing meaning car was collected dirty on the outside.It was difficult to spot any damage on the car which I checked best I could in bad weather. Green motion excuse was that their car wash was not operational due to bad weather/ frozen pipes etc.

After a look through the car I didn't see any obvious damage apart from what was on the report already.I did however notice warning light showing tyre pressure fault which GM responded to they were aware of the problem, but that was nothing to worry about as they said it was just faulty sensor and they have same problem on many cars. I drove off after that assurance and today after 15 days of rental I returned the car.

On return I was told that all was good apart from a very minor tear on the tyre which I was shown and immediately disputed it as it was very minor tear , hard to see unless looking closely and very likely present when we rented the car on day one. It was snowy that day and in bad weather it could esily be missed due to tyres being low profile and sitting in the snow! Also there was warning light indicating tyre fault which we mentioned ono the day of rental and were fobbed off it's nothing and now suddenly faulty tyre?!

They said on our return that the whole tyre would need replacing for that tiny cut and we would be charged for tyre itself and all sort of fees including 1 day loss of rental as car couldn't be used for the day totalling £300!!!

We were absolutelly fuming with my husband as we didn't do a lot of mileage on car in 15 days we had it, rental conditions on the day of initial rental were poor and this tiny tear could easily be missed, but person who was dealing with us was unhelpfull at all and he was blaming it on us!

Worst customer service experience ever, horrendous charge for something that was VERY likely there already when we got it, but couldn't be spotted. We would never use green motion again! My husband had a 6 week rental prior to this through green motion and was dealt with by gentleman who was extremely helpful and friendly 100% recommended. Because of that pleasant first experience we got our second rental through green motion right after returning hgusband's first car.Right off the start of my rental everything was going wrong. Car I originally wanted was not available, Mateusz G. was dealing with us and told us we had to get MPV which was next class up and because we did not want it as it was completely unsuitable for us, we had to get a premium car which we needed to pay for £100 extra ,only because they didn't have what we actually booked and he was unwilling to scrap extra charge for us. We told him we were not interested in renting premium and paying extra ,ready to walk away to get rental alsewhere at the airport, but then he told us we wouldn't get refund as we were refusing a car which was available to us. After hearing that we were forced to pay extra and get premium with higher excess charge as we could not afford to lose money we already paid for rental! Already unhappy from that moment on it only got worse as when we went to collect the car it was filthy, fuel tank was nearly completely empty and tyre pressure warning light was on. That didn't seem to bother Mateusz G as he wasn't the one paying for rental. Horrible experience and will strongly discourage anyone to rent a car from green motion.
