My Worst Car Rental Experiences On Erboy/fox Rentacar

A horrible experience. First of all, when we get to the airport (Izmir, Turkey), the staff sitting in the counter just point to the directions that we should proceed to. We get lost getting out of the airport lobby. Fortunately, we were smart enough to find our way to the rental place. It took us a while though. When we get there, a dirty car with a lot of dented spots and scratches is waiting for us. I told the staff the car is not acceptable so he called the counter inside the airport building. They changed another car and it was still a dirty, dented, scratched, aged vehicle with more than 80,000 kilometers shown on the dashboard. (Continued from yesterday) I just accepted their offer and on my way to Sirince. It was not a very pleasant drive along the way. Nevertheless, we finally got to the town where Sirince is located. I could feel the car is not powerful enough when driving up the hill in order to get to Sirince. Just as expected, the car began to smoke on the way up. I dared not to keep on driving so I pulled over I the middle of the road. It was around noon and my wife and I got scared in a totally foreign environment. A Turkey man riding a motorcycle passed by. He stopped about 50 meters ahead and turned back to check on us. I told him the situation and he was kind enough to try driving the car. He got the car started and told me to follow him to Sirince. But when I started the engine and tried to shift the gear, the gear could not be shifted. The good-hearted Turkish man asked me to ride on his bike and he would drive the car for me. To make the long story short, we managed arriving at Sirince with me riding his motorcycle and him driving the car. However, the car was completely dead when he got to a parking lot at Sirince. He had to asked a couple of people to push the car into a parking space. (……..to be continued)
