Friendly Well Run Campsite For Tents And Motor Homes

Have visited Sea Barn on numerous occasions. Mostly off season in May, June and September but also with grandchildren in August.

Well set out site with enclosed areas providing natural windbreaks.

Has electric hook ups which are well marked out; other non electric have plenty of scope as to whereabouts to pitch.

A particular favourite of many is a slope overlooking Moonfleet Manor and Fleet lagoon as this is where the stunning sunsets can be seen.

There are 2 toilet/shower blocks. One is brand new and well thought out and naturally a favourite choice.

The second is an older basic block but has hot water and clean facilities.

Both facilities are kept clean and well stocked even in high season times.

In the newer block there is a hair dryer and a plug for your own dryers/straighteners, etc.

ALL FREE

There is a bathroom ostensibly for use by families.

The launderette has washing and drying facilities AND plugs for charging mobile phones, laptops etc. at no extra charge.

There is a small shop/reception which is well stocked with basics.

The facilities at the next door camp (West Fleet) are available to campers at Sea Barn and these include a club and small swimming pool (refurbished earlier this year)

What we like about it especially is that the reception staff live onsite and consequently any noise etc is dealt with literally within minutes making it peaceful at night (the pigeons, gulls and geese are noisier!)

Beautiful coastal walks are just minutes away and there is a 'Farm Walk' identified for those who want a stroll nearby. Dogs are allowed but are to be kept on a lead at all times. I have never seen dog mess around. 'Doggy mess' bags are available.

Sea Barn is a working farm - horses are bred and trained here and a herd of Charolais cows graze nearby. Joints, burgers, sausages etc. from these cattle are sold in the West Fleet shop.

There are rules regarding 'groups' with deposits being paid upfront and returned on departure if no problems.

A limited bus service runs mostly in season.

Weymouth beach and Bowleaze cove are about 3 and 5 miles respectively for bathing.

Supermarkets within a 5 mile radius (Morrisons, Asda and Tesco Express (with Esso petrol).

5 mph speed restrictions apply all round.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely site.
