Fabulous City Car. Love It.
I bought this to replace my 10 year old car that was getting quite unreliable. After looking at a number of different makes I had my heart set on the Hyundai i10 and I'm glad I did. Read on...
Styling:
The styling of the body looks neat and modern with its large front grille, front foglights and colour-coded bumpers and door handles. The 4 spoke alloys look impressive as well. Sapphire Metallic Blue really suits the bodywork.
Performance:
The engine is very nippy and smooth during everyday driving though it can sound a bit thrashy when pressed hard, but that is to be expected given its 1.2 litre capacity. The car comes in a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Mine is the 4-speed automatic and the gearchanges are smooth.
Ride And Handling:
The suspension is firm, but its not uncomfortable and its satisfactory when on the motorway and around town. The electric power steering feels a bit numb at first, but you soon get used to it. There is enough grip with little body roll.
Interior:
The interior is well laid-out and spacious with plenty of stowage space. There is a removable cup-shaped ashtray located in one of the front cup holders. The seats are comfortable and there is enough leg and headroom to seat 4 adults in comfort. The dashboard plastics are hard, but they don't feel cheap and the construction of the dashboard feels solid enough. I particulary like the blue and white dash illumination at night.
Equipment:
The i10 Active is well kitted out with electric windows/mirrors, remote central locking, height adjustable steering wheel, 4-speaker iPod compatible radio/CD unit with USB and Aux inputs, height adjustable front seats, two power sockets (one being the cigarette lighter and air conditioning. There is a stowage tray under the front passenger seat, and an extra storage tray underneath the boot lining. Boot space is adequate for a small family.
Reliabilty:
My car overall has been virtually flawless. The only thing I need to mention was that there was a minor rattle under the dashboard but that got fixed promptly by Hyundai who were very helpful and the car has been fine ever since. It comes with a peace-of-mind 5 year unlimited mileage warranty.
Overall:
I am extremely happy with this car. I recommend it to anybody who does a lot of city driving mixed with the odd motorway trip. Buy one. You won't regret it.
