I asked for a full building survey from this firm, and they failed to use the advert for the property so did not measure the room sizes or comment on three advertised features which I then found out (after I had bought the house)were misrepresentations by the vendors. Had the surveyor read the advert he would have been obliged to mention that the house was misrepresented but he did not. The survey did not have any photos so when I discovered woodworm in situ on the day I moved in, and clearly where the surveyor had said he had viewed the property stairs but had failed to mention the woodworm, then it was clear he had been negligent. He had failed to see damp in each window corner, bricks without mortar, failing and blown window seals and claimed things that were not true/existent. I presumed he had used a proforma survey and altered it to suit so had left things in but when a dispute arises one sees that these issues are very pertinent, particularly if they have no photos to prove their word against yours.

£800 this cost of survey is basically a poor standard of service and using their complaints process was also a meeting with another similarly deceptive surveyor, who claimed to be a woodworm expert - then offered that their insurance would pay then sent a letter that said they were happy their survey was suffice, forcing me to take legal action and burdening me with the cost of their negligence as well.
