I Would Advise Anyone To Avoid This Company
After comparing quotes & filling in their online forms I paid for a motorcycle insurance policy with principal.
I was then sent an email asking for various other documentation to validate the policy. I found their online system for sending all the requested documents so difficult to navigate that I decided to cancel the policy & use a different company.
This was done within a few days of the policy start date.
When I cancelled and asked for a refund I was advised this could take up to 60 days.
When I complained they replied " we must treat all customers fairly,so the same time frames must always apply to all our customers"
Personally, I interpret their reply as we treat all our customers with the same contempt.
I will advise all my motorcycle contacts to avoid this company.

Do not use Principle. I took van insurance with principle and told them I had 3 years NC. Turns out the do not accept car NC.. so my policy tripled to £300. Then I cancelled my policy and the wanted £186. please do not use Principle.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
Dreadful company. Avoid. I have cancelled my single bike policy this morning and taken a multi-bike policy with CN. Principal were not able to offer me a multi-bike policy. The whole concept, of owning more than one bike seemed to be beyond them. If they are this difficult when I am trying to pay them money, how bad will they be if I need to make a claim?
I spoke with 4 different people to try and resolve. Several hours on hold and 2 failed promises of return calls.

***Avoid*** READ YOUR T&C’s! My son bought bike insurance from this pathetic insurance company! When his bike was stolen off the drive they said they will not pay out a penny as his bike was within half a mile from the home address and wasn’t stored in the garage! If you have a garage at your house please read your T&C’s.
If I could score in the minus I would!
After making a complaint they said they would call me back to discuss! Obviously they didn’t they sent an email!
I will be taking this up with the financial ombudsman.

I had insurance for 3 month before it got stolen!!! So not only was I £1500 down I then had to pay the rest of my insurance and a cancellation fee!!!! And they cancelled the insurance
Rang them to see why I had to pay this amount to then be told they had passed it on to a debt collector on the 12th of February when they only emailed me about it on the 24th!!!
They just don’t care and only want money from people I wish I would of read reviews before taking out insurance with this joke of a company

!!! BE AWARE !!!
DO NOT WORK WITH THIS INSURANCE BROKER, THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE YOU STREANDED
I made an insurance to this insurer, I paid the first month (February 2020) ₤ 350 ( First mounth + deposit ), the second month on March 9th they charged my card with ₤ 267.14, and the next day on March 10th they canceled my insurance without for any prior notices. I only found out when my employeeur asked me why my van is not insured a few days after
I called them to see what the problem is and why is it canceled and they started asking me for more documents prior to the ones I sent them at first when I made my insurance. I sent them the asked for documents in the hope that they will reinstate my policy, after almost a week of going back and forth with their support team which I had to explain everytime why I was calling and to tell them that I sent the documents and then they will go search for the email. And allways telling me that they need also a picture of this and that. And all of this to tell me that they have a new offer for me that is more that the first contract was closed for that is 352£/mo wich is miles apart from 267.14£
WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE INSURANCE FOR WHICH I ALREADY PAYED?
I asked to give me the second payment back because i did not benefits from it, they told me that I lost that last payment those money and there is nothing to they can do. Making me the above stated offer that is high in comparison with the first!
It is a company that deserves -10 stars for the review.
I am now looking to pursuit legal action.

Charged Me More To Insure A 125 Yamaha Than A 690
Charged me MORE to insure a 125 Yamaha than a 690 KTM SMC after selling the KTM and swapping the bike over on existing policy.
£32 ontop of policy - £237 for the year for a bike I could insure for £95 elsewhere... So I asked to cancel - Turns out is £130 to cancel. So I'm stuck with them. They will not see a penny more out of me for as long as I live once my policy is up. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
I cannot express enough how angry I am. Please don't use this company!!

From the minute they answered the phone to the minute I received my documents was an absolute pleasure. Saved over 100 pound on my motorcycle policy. I will use them again, well done Principal, I will be telling my biker friends.
