Don't Waste Your Money

They take your money then disappear. Paid £150 for the service of 2 of my machines, they don't respond to my emails nor answer the telephone.

Rubish

I bought my Janome and 15 year service (£70) in 2018 from British Sewing Centre. I Have had one service which was a performance.

Just tried to contact them for a second service, both telephone numbers no answer. Web page unavailable.

Just found loads of people having the same problem.

Me too, I have been emailing and now assume they have gone out of business. I suppose I should be grateful to have had one service before it happened. Learnt never to buy service agreement again.

This Is A Confidence Trick

I ordered my machine in May and paid in full. The day after I had an email saying the machine I ordered wasn't in stock but they were expecting a delivery in June. By the end of June I still had not received my machine and when I tried to contact them got no replies to my emails and the telephone number is unobtainable

They went bust, it seems that you ordered at the wrong time. Hope you got your money back

Report This Company To Trading Standards & Fraud Squad

I am still waiting (in vain I know)for a response to my incomplete and faulty order from March 2019. Maybe the BBC could do an item on them! I have reported them to Trading Standards and currently making an application through my credit card company. I also believe my machine not to be the Bernina I ordered, but, indeed a cheap copy made in China. There has to be somewhere in the system where people such as this can be detained and locked up, away from doing more harm to innocent people. Come on to those in power, let's create new laws to safeguard all these innocent people listed in this review and other such reviews - deal with this greed.

Awful!!!!!!

I bought a Janome which kept shredding all my threads. Eventually company offered to change it. A Viking arrived with which I have been very pleased. I paid 199.00 for a 15-year Service agreement and returned the Viking for service early this year. Box was returned with outer having bottom and one side cut away - no longer usable. Also a spool part missing. Phoned and e-mailed to ask for missing part replacement and new outer box to allow me to return machine again in future. No reply for 2 months. Tried to phone and e-mail again - no response. Sent Recorded delivery letter to Borehamwood asking for return of part of 199.00

. Royal Mail advises they tried to deliver - but no-one there! Have they gone belly-up - or have they moved again and trading under a different name???

I bought a Toyota super jeans machine, from this company 10 months ago it has never worked properly it misses stitches all the time and is totally useless what a waste of money I feel absolutely robbed, there web site has disappeared! so I am guessing they have gone belly up. When I was in the process of buying it they talked the talk and couldn't do enough to help me they talked me out of buying a singer machine which is what I really wanted, they obviously had a lot more Toyotas to get rid of! its my own fault. I feel for all the other customers who trusted them.

Waste Of Money

I purchased a Cooper Pro machine from this company in 2014. Very happy with service at that point. Arranged to have it serviced in July 2016. Machine collected and returned. Took out extended service contract then. ( First service free)

Now unable to get the benefit of this warranty. I’m cross but at least I have my machine unlike some others though need to pay for servicing locally.

This kind of dealing with people needs to be stopped. I too continue to get emails about the extended warranty. Don’t be duped!

One Star Is One Too Many!

In May I spoke to one person and the other team about upgrading my embroidery machine, I explained how it was going to be used solely for my daughters charity to raise money for her and all the other kids to get together for a fun weekend, seeing as this company are such a charitable company apparently!!! They talked the talk and I purchased a brother NV800e, was so happy to he able to do larger scale things and the outcome would be brilliant for all the kids.... after giving 999 over the next day they disappeared and I was left with no machine, a debt and no way of raising funds for the charity! So BSC thank you so much for ruining so many lives by being greedy yet again! Disgusting behaviour and will continue to let people know what you have done for every new business you set up!!! Even to say we will give free threads as a donation ! Disgusting!!

Something Shady Going On.

I sent a sewing machine (which I purchased from this company without problems 3 years ago) to BSC for servicing.

When I tried to progress the matter their website address redirects to a domain holding site, their phone number is 'not recognised and emails just bounce.

I have done a bit of research and find that their company registration is identical to FLC Distributors which still shows as an active company. With a fair few other trading names.

I have now sent a report to Action Fraud ....

and I reccommend everyone does the same. There is something dodgy ocurring and the more people that report their issues then the more chance there is of authorities getting involved.

Has The British Sewing Centre closed and if so what happens to the Warranty/Guarantee which is an extended one that comes with your sewing machine?

Disnagbryddon

Should we report to trading standards?

Jules1921

Is British Sewing Centre operating under sewing machines direct? I bought a machine from BSC but they have stopped answering emails and I can't get onto their website.

steelergirl

Why is nothing done about this company? They are taking peoples service money but you cannot get your machine serviced for love nor money.

After heated discussions with the service centre I have thrown the towel in and cut my losses I just don't know who to go too.

TheSewingLady

I don't know how they are still in business. I was tricked by them too but that was many years ago. Some customers have been saying they have tidied their act up, but I'm in many sewing Facebook groups and the consensus of opinion is that they are still giving terrible service. If I was having problems with them I would take it to Trading Standards. If enough people reported him they would investigate further. I had problems with a subsequent dealer on another machine I bought and I got as far as sending many letters documenting the problems to them. When they ignored my complaint I threatened Trading Standards and the dealer finally gave me a new machine. You have to be ruthless and play him at his own game! Please don't give up - if you do he's won! Good luck
