Great Burners But Some Real Design Errros

Lacanche Cormatin:

Burners are powerful and have built in safety mechanism. BUT..

Control knobs get too hot to handle when oven is on.

The knobs quickly start to fall off the front - as the little clip that holds them in place gets worn and fails every 3 months.

The gas oven gives an uneven heat and you cannot bake in it as it runs too hot - so not very versatile.

The burners on the oven do not auto ignite and often go out when the oven has been on a while as there must be some distortion due to heat which means the safety mechanism kicks in and puts them out

The whole oven gets really really hot on the outside which is a little inconvenient.

Servicing is eyewateringly expensive as are spare parts.

Get a Falcon oven and pay the extra big sum to put in a safety cut off mechanism up front. The Falcon oven is the bees knees - we have one for professional use. Knocks the stuffing out of a Lacanche for actual cooking ability and ease of use. And I love the French and know they could easily improve this thing to make it work but my 10 year old one has always been a pain.
