Failure

Its ok for a while, but after only five years ours started to break down, it chipped away at one side, and then developed a glass splintering crack across another corner. Its like their fridge freezer that was supplied with our kitchen too - the first one broke after less than two years - we got it replace for free but this one doesnt work very well either. We would never never recommend them to anybody

3rd Time Same Problem

Unfortunately Christmas Day the Induction hob blew again, this is the third time with same problem. Goes with a bang and then doesn't work at all, it blows the power board. Ive had two replacements previously under warranty and this should also be under warranty however I want a different hob. Im come to the conclusion Lamona is just cheap and unreliable - do not recommend

Only used this for a month and its looking like its been used for a decade. Unable to recommend this product.

Mains Powered. Works Perfectly

We bought this from howdens as part of our kitchen, didn't give it much thought, when we came to install I checked reviews online and was gutted to read they were mostly very bad....

We installed it anyway and it has been great.

Boils a pan of cold water in 1 min 20 seconds. I have used 3 it off the 4 hobs at the same time

Easy to operate, and quick to cook after you take the pan off.

Not sure why so many bad reviews (maybe there's a plug and play option, which perhaps might not be so good?? .... but ours is mains wired and no problems with it at all). Been using it for about 2 months now.

Absolute Piece Of Junk

Howden really need to disassociate themselves from lamona appliances bad for the reputation and definitely not made to last as long as you would expect repaired once after15 months and gone again just out of guarantee, and on complaint, advice given not worth repairing as cheaper to buy a new one. ????

Do Not Bother

Terrible, the controls have a mind of their own, the thing turns off halfway through cooking and turn up when I expect it to be off.

Had many induction hobs and always found easy to use and a great product but this one is at the bottom of the pile

Useless For Cooking - And Bad For One's Blood Pressure!

I too agreed to have this hob in a hurry! - OH that I'd read the reviews first.

It is just about OK for using one zone, - but forget about using two!

If you are boiling with one ring, and want to make the gravy / boil veg, the first ring switches off until the second one gets up to heat - takes AGES - unless you switch the first ring off completely.

It will put you off cooking at all - unless you are writing a book about one ring cooking.

I would like to have known that it is 'one ring' cooking beforehand. It was my first induction hob - but didn't put me off - friends can use all the zones on theirs!

Had it ripped out and a Samsung hob put in - utter, utter, bliss - fast as gas and SO responsive.

Absolutely Terrible-avoid Avoid Avoid!!

I bought this quickly as the one I had originally ordered wasn’t suitable. I wish I had read the reviews because a one star rating is too generous- it is possibly the worst product I have ever bought and if I could give it a negative rating I would!

You can only use one hob zone at a time so cooking even something like Bolognese takes twice the amount of time as you have to cook both the bolognese and the pasta at separate times. Even on a low temperature, the zones click between each other and intermittently share the heat- absolutely ridiculous!

You may as well just have one hob zone as that is all you can use at once! Who ever designed this clearly doesn’t cook family meals.

An absolute shambles of a product unless you actually want to cook all of your food at separate times- because we all have time to do that don’t we!!

Like you, I should have read the reviews before purchasing this Lamona cooktop. This is the worst product I have had. I have had the hob repaired twice, but the flexible cooking zone still does not work. I have to buy another one of course not a lamona.

Don't Buy - Absolutely Useless

This hob is a total waste of money. It is designed to work from a 13amp plug which means you cannot use all elements at once, unless they are on a low setting. If you are using two elements on a high setting and then turn on a third element the first two will reduce their power output down to level 6.

To use Howdens words "best suits those who have a more leisurely approach to making family meals" - i.e. if you can spare 6 hours to cook your evening meal, then this is the hob for you. I would give this hob a negative 5* if I could and would advise that you avoid it at all costs!!!!

PS - it also failed and had to have all internal electronic pieces replaced within the first year.

Like you, I should have read the reviews before purchasing this Lamona cooktop. This is the worst product I have had. I have had the hob repaired twice, but the flexible cooking zone still does not work. Call the engineer to repair it again, it's a waste of time. I have to replace it by another brand.

Q&A

Mrbmrss

Why does my hob keep clicking if there is two or more pans on it?

Tatathom74

Should the hob go instantly cold when pan comes off or is that other brands?

StuartTarr

Are Lamona appliances, including the electric induction hob as supplied by Howdens, any good as they seem to attract poor reviews for quality, ease of use and reliability?

judithstubbs24

I would like some advice on the lamona induction hob. Does it have a fault on its life span? How much would a service cost. Many thanks
