Lacanche Cluny Service Call-out

I can honestly say that my recent call-out with Lacanche was one of, if not THE, best engineer visits I’ve ever experienced. Prompt, polite, good communication and skilled. He talked me through what the issues might have been, alerted me to the potential cost and afterwards explained what he had done. In under an hour, my range was restored to its full function and former glory. Highly recommended.

In terms of the Cluny, I would not have any other oven. I've owned mine for over thirty years and loved using it.

It Is The Best Range There Is Out There!

WE have had a Cluny for rather a lot of years, in fact we inherited it when we bought our home. It makes our kitchen as far as we are concerned. It is so efficient to cook on/in, bake and it looks amazing even after all these years. We love having a fan oven as well as conventional oven and give gas rings is a real benefit. Although due to its age, there are some things that have gone wrong, the engineers from Lacanche are always extremely efficient when they come to service/mend it, we cannot speak highly enough of them. Not only is it a very efficient cooker, it also looks really nice in our kitchen.

Lacanche Cluny Service Visit

I've owned my Lacanche Cluny for over 20yrs and it's still fabulous. It looks as good today as the day I bought it! These products are truly built to last, with genuine replacement parts at affordable prices.

I recently booked a service and the engineer was a credit to the brand. He called 30 minutes prior to his arrival. Arrived promptly, was respectful of my home, set up and got straight to work. Throughout he was upbeat and cheerful. He was exceptionally knowledgeable about the product answering all of my questions and carried out a very thorough service.

The icing on the cake - the bill was less than I anticipated!

Well done Lacanche - an all-round great job and a great customer experience.

Lacanche Service

I recently decided to have my 6 year old Lacanche Cluny serviced, primarily because I found the gas oven difficult to use due to temperature fluctuation. The booking process for the Lacanche Premium Service was efficient and staff helpful on the telephone. The engineer called to confirm his arrival time as promised. On discussing my concerns regarding the gas oven he proceeded to check over every part of the cooker, explaining what he was doing and also giving helpful hints on how to keep the cooker working at its best. He did find the gas oven was running low and in doing so found a gas leak at the connection which he fixed immediately and with a wider bore gas pipe. I couldn’t recommend the Lacanche engineer highly enough. My cooker is now running better than when first installed. My only gripe would be that the instructions which come with the cooker should provide an oven temperature comparison chart and also explain that the gas ovens do not have a pilot light and so require opening to regulate the temperature.

A Very Expensive Mistake, And Dangerous

The lacanche really looks great, but that's it. The functionality is a disgrace.

We had our cooker for about 5 years.

General problems:

- One of the burners didn't work properly from the start - didn't keep on if released too quickly.

- The ovens are not baking evenly. Never were. The back is hotter. Maybe the door is not sealed properly.

- The oven thermostats are also non-linear and calibrated to 180 C. This means that 240 is not really 240, but more like 220.

They could at least put the correct markings on the front panel.

Breaks:

- After a bit longer than the warranty, one thermostat died and the oven started burning everything.

It took time to figure out, and I replaced it myself because the sevice charge is ridiculously high.

- Now the bad burner stopped popping out, became kinda lose, and today IT SPIT FIRE OUT THE FRONT!!!

A replacement valve on the lacanche website is 66 Pounds + shipping while a valve for any other oven is a third of that.

A service visit is Gona be like 300+ pounds.

Bottom line:

I would expect such an expensive oven to not break that often!

Shelling a few hundred pounds over just a few years is not acceptable. 5+ grand is far too much already.

I am extremely unhappy with this cooker and I wish I never bought it.

All this "designed for many years" is nonsense. Poor design quality and poor build quality is what it is.

Any buyers?

Agreed. Not has as drastic an experience az yours, but far too easy to end up with gas poisoning due to burners not liggting properly. Dangerous heating up of metal knobd when grill is opened. And appalling seals round doors - utter rubbish. And expensive rubbish.

Appalling Service, And Expencive

Hi,

I contacted La Canche several weeks ago to make an appointment to repair my Cluny which l have had for 10 years now.

I last had it serviced about 7 years ago, as we don't live in UK permanently it doesn't get a lot of use. We decided to get it serviced and we're told we would have to wait aprox 3 weeks and the cost of a service was rediculous.

We were recomended by a friend who also has a La Canche a company that specialises in La Canche we contacted them and they were fantastic fully serviced and ready to go. Had a run through of how the cooker works and very helpfull tips. All at a very reasnoble price. Thanks...

Thrilled With My New Lacanche Cluny Classic

I purchased the Cherry Red Lacanche Cluny Classic in time for Christmas!

I was delighted with my purchase from day one. The dealership who sold it to me were amazing. Lacanche who kept me informed of progress, delivery etc were amazing. The delivery people were excellent and took extreme care to ensure no damage to the cooker or my property. The installers who were brilliant too. Everyone has a "can do" attitude, which I love.

I'm using the range every day and I'm thoroughly enjoying cooking with it and the results which are first class.

I can't recommend the company and the product enough.

Excellent Service On My Lacanche Cluny

I have owned my Lacanche Cluny for around 20 years. Towards the end of 2021, I wanted it serviced as I noticed what looked like a loose part in the gas oven which we don't use very often and I was also a little concerned about the seal on the electric oven - though I use that oven every day and have not had any problems. I called to make an appointment and spoke to a real person without waiting a long time. My appointment wait time was around 3 weeks - including the Christmas period. The engineer arrived promptly for the appointment on the promised day. He was friendly, knowledgeable and competent. He explained what the problems were with the device after checking it thoroughly. He was able to complete the necessary repairs and I received a written report detailing the work. He was both personable and professional and addressed all my concerns. He did a really thorough and excellent job - I was very pleased and happy with his work and attitude - couldn't have been better! Plus my Cluny is now ready for another 20 years and looks as good as the day I bought it.

Poor Presales And After Sales

Just paid large amount of money for Laclanche Macon. Delivery good and connected by qualified electrician. Tried to level cooker according to instructions and metal fractured. They want £25 for replacement part and £140 to fit. Not covered by guarantee because not properly installed. They do not have installers so how do you properly install. Shameful when pain £8500 for cooker splashback and hood

Hi Contact,

on our email id.

Spot on.

xukryg-qIkgyw-8nytba

Finally fitted extractor fan. Charcoal filters not mentioned in fitting guide ! They will talk me through how and where to fit them. Level of service for this price awful. Had an aga in previous house they surveyed it and then attended to all fitting plus service and cookery demonstration. So much better service

Excellent After Sales Service From Lacanche

I’d like to take the opportunity to pay tribute to the service engineer to say what a fantastic ambassador he is for the company. The superb service he provided was outstanding and impressive. Not only was he courteous and friendly but did so in a very professional manner and is without doubt the best engineer that has attended to our cooker. He demonstrated he’s very knowledgeable and able to explain things easily and simply and conduct a conversation without losing focus on the job. He quickly diagnosed and thoroughly proved his theory for the fault through an elimination process. The most obvious was the heating elements but they were in very good order as he took the time to explain the meter readings. Thereafter the most likely component was the thermostat and again he took the trouble to provide pertinent information and tested the new part to ensure it resolved the issue. It’s a pleasure to have witnessed someone that wanted to do what I call a proper job.

What site is best for Cluny spare parts?

LadyRainton

We only ever had one replacement grill element in 16 years of ownership and we bought it from the UK distributor and fitted it ourselves.
