Hotpoint DD2 844 C Double Oven

This is a good looking oven offering several cooking/grilling options but the attractions stop there. The retractable control knobs are mounted so high up that only the very tall can see the calibrations. As the function icons and temperature settings must be viewed from above this makes setting the controls very difficult for those of even average height. The timer device over-rides the clock so that the clock cannot be seen for other timing whilst the 'pinger' is so quiet it cannot be heard above other kitchen noise such as the oven fan. The internal insulation is poor so that using one oven causes considerable heat leakage to the other. Heat distribution is poor in both ovens leading to scorching/burning of some foods unless using the fan in the larger oven or cooking in covered casseroles etc. To add to the difficulties the thermostat in the lower oven was faulty causing considerable overheating (to 300 deg even when set to 100 deg) resulting in a lot of food wastage until I bought an oven thermometer and identified the real problem.
