Out Of The Frying Pan....

I decided to move from PlusNet to Vodafone for Full Fibre as advertised immediately available for my house. My live date was agreed for 10/10/2022. Engineers came out and did the site inspection. The router arrived from Vodafone on time. The installation engineer has not yet arrived at all, including on the day of his scheduled visit. (I was not informed he was not going to come either) Connection has still not been done. These issues are largely due to that useless leg of BT called OpenReach. BUT getting any information or sense from Vodafone Customer Service has eluded me. They either pretend (maybe) not to understand simple questions, resort to fob offs and if that doesn't work just tell downright lies to close the chat. I have written a complaint, but had no response after 9 days. I did not think that any Customer Service could be worse than PlusNet, but Vodafone are closing in and I've not even got a service yet. Also, just too bad if you don't use Twitter or Facebook and don't have the time to waste waiting for the Chatbot or for the phone to be answered. Very, very unimpressed and ready to cancel free of penalty in another 30 days.

Don't Do It

This is my second time with Vodafone broadband, both times the attractive low monthly payment lured me to take them on as my broadband supplier. First time after about 4 months the speed dropped through the floor and i managed to get out of the contract because they increased my monthly payment so i was automatically allowed to leave. 18months later, i rejoined, and exactly the same thing has happened, low/ no speed and can not work from home. Technical help is a joke and patronizing me, seem to want to give you a fix to the solution then say wait 3-5 days for the line to "stabilize", in other words just delaying the problem further. I need to wait the full 8 weeks before lodging a ofcom complaint. Just avoid and don't get tempted by the cheaper monthly rate.

Do Not Use Vidafone Broadband If You Have An Apple Watch

There is unfortunately a bug within the firmware of this router which when your Apple Watch connects via Wi-fi self re boots the router. This in turn drops and lowers your connection speed

I am now down to 18 meg on Superfast 2 and Vodafone will not release me from my contract.

I have disconnected my watch and the line is stable, but does anyone at vidafone take responsibility Absolutely not.

Will wait 8 weeks and then escalate to Ofcom to get out of this poor provider

Absolutely avoid at all costs

No Internet

My contract for the broadband started almost a week ago and I still did not receive my router. I have already called and chatted with the costumer service 5 times. They have told me 3 times that it will be delivered within 48 hours.

I wanted to leave for another openreach provider, but they say that I cannot cancel my contract or switch providers as long as I did not receive my router.

The costumer service is really kind, just they got nothing done for me.

PS I even paid for the router

Poor Connection And Overall Poor Service

I was with EE for many years with my broadband and phone, I decided to switch to Vodafone simply to save money, and by god I wish I hadn’t the service is a mess, they assume the fault is iyour end when nothing at all had changed except the supplier of service, I used my own router at first apart from very slow speeds it always stayed connected, but I decided to make a complaint about the speed as I was paying for up to 76mb*, and I knew I wouldn’t achieve this as I have some knowledge about broadband, with EE I used to achieve around 54mb and some times would drop to 35mb to 45mb during busy periods but Vodafone how ever, this was totally varied as low as 7mb up to 45mb, never was consistent. Now as to there router from my complaint of speed they made me change to there router cos they won’t give customer support, which was fine as the advisor said once we sort out ur speed issue you can switch it back, but sadly changing as caused even more router continually loses connection to the exchange and the WiFi keep dropping and leaving my devices hanging to it come back and I currently am still waiting for them to call me back from 3 days ago.....totally appalling service really enough said

5,star Great Value

After suffering yet another BT price rise I took the plunge and accepted the Vodafone Home Broadband offer to existing Vodafone mobile users.

Everything went like clockwork (I think!) I was away from home when the switch over took place. Before leaving home I unplugged the BT router and plugged in the Vodafone router, connected the Ethernet circuits (3) and left everything turned on.

On my return everything was on line. I had to change the SSID and password in the SkyHD box, iPhone and laptop and was back in business - but saving £20 a month.

Live for three months - no downtime or poor transmission speeds despite being in the remote Highlands of Scotland. Download between 34 and 38 Mbps upload about 10 mbps.

Very happy Vodafone home broadband and phone user.

If You Are Thinking Of Moving To Vodafone Broadband, Don't!!

My experience of the Vodafone broadband and home phone service:

• Ordering the service took multiple attempts due to website issues.

• Several days later Vodafone cancelled the order after sending me a router.

• I called them and it was an error on their side, so they re-ordered the service including evening and weekend calls package.

• They sent me another router.

• Service was transferred from Sky. Phone seemed ok, but no broadband.

• Broadband turned out to be a BT issue that took 2 days to get sorted out.

• I spoke to their Customer Services who offered a 2 month refund on my rental.

• I received a bill. Vodafone were charging for time when I had no service.

• They had also debited my account for an unexplained sum, then credited back a lower amount.

• I didn’t have the evening and weekend calls package I ordered.

• Also, no refund on my rental.

• I then also found out that my service doesn’t have voicemail, despite the fact it was, and still is, advertised as having voicemail.

All the above happened in October / November last year. It has been reported, none of it has been fixed, and requests for action have been ignored.

Finally I wrote to their CEO and got back a letter advising me to call their Tech support to solve my service interruptions. I have not complained about “service interruptions”.

The router they supply is junk. Wireless clients lose connectivity to wired devices like printer, NAS. The router still sees them all, but they cannot communicate without restarting the router. They won’t provide you with the username and password so that you can provide your own.

Broadband performance is poor. I have the 38/10Mbps service. Performance was good initially, but now is generally around 20Mbps but can go as low as 7Mbps downstream. Upstream is usually OK, but I don’t upload a great deal.

I absolutely regret moving to Vodafone, both from the perspective of a rubbish service and equally bad “customer service”.

My advice would be “don’t do it”.

Very Good Service And Good Product As Well

After having few issues (around broadband speed and quality of router) I finally decided to switch to Vodafone. Being Vodafone mobile customer I was sure that I will get very good service but was not sure about their home broadband product. Since the product have been launched recently so I could not manage to analyse the reviews of the product.

Anyway, finally decided to take a risk and switch to Vodafone. I had no issues regarding the switch over and had almost no down time. I am using Vodafone broadband for more than an month without any issues.

All broadband speed checkers report the speed of broadband even better than the advertised speed for download and almost same as advertised speed for upload.

However, I have not yet found a way to verify whether Vodafone applies some kind of throttling. I will update my review accordingly once I find this.
