Fling a Duck Dog Toy

My father bought a toy for my dog that was a Fling a Duck Plush Toy. You hook your thumb under the ducks beak (or pigs nose, or whatever the toy animal has) pull the toy by the tail, the beak/nose etc extends on a strong piece of elastic, you let it go and it sails through the air.

That's all well and good providing A) your finger/thumb doesn't slip out of the beak and B) your dog isn't standing right in front of you.

The scream that my dog let out as he was hit full pelt in the eye as it accidentally slipped of my husbands finger was horrific. He pawed at his eye and was crying. We took him to the emergency vet (Christmas) who thankfully told that he hadn't damaged his sight but the whole eye swelled up and it left our dog in severe pain for two days, and he couldn't see from that eye either. I still have the photos of my dog at that time and its heart breaking to see.

I contacted the manufacturer of this toy who totally ignored me, I pointed out that not only could my dog have lost his eye and his sight, imagine what would happen if this 'toy' got in the hands of a child, or hit a child. It does not bare thinking about.

This type of toy is downright dangerous and should be removed from the market as soon as possible before a dog, or worse a human is left blind because of it.
