JCB LED Lightbulbs

Great value bulbs. Been using for a while all over the home. Never had an issue like the last reviewer. Lights constantly on in some rooms in the house and they just keep going! Fantastic value and quality.

This review covers standard 60W equivalent LED lightbulbs with the household B22 bayonet cap fitting.

These particular lightbulbs come in a box that bears the JCB logo. That's the JCB who make excavators. Now having owned JCB branded screwdrivers that have served me well I went with the logo and bough a two batches of four lightbulbs from two different sellers.

When they work, they work well but, and it's a very big but, the lifespan is appalling. Six out of the eight have failed in under a hundred hours of use. Given the box says may last up to ten thousand hours, a lifespan of a hundred hours is a poor joke.

EU regulations dated 2014 for LED bulbs, say that any batch of lightbulbs should have a failure rate of no more than six percent. On batch has a one hundred percent failure rate and the other is at fifty percent and as the last two bulbs have been recently fitted I expect that to reach a hundred percent in a couple of months.

The importers are SI LTD in Manchester who say on the bottom of the box that they licenced the JCB name from JC Bamford. JC Bamford should think about rescinding that licence as this product doesn't live up to their reputation.
