New Style Disappointing
No longer the drink it was. Loved he green colour and the zip of the original product. Now the taste is very different. Far too sweet and syrupy and lacks the bight it used to have. Have drunk this for years but am not sure I will bother in future. Very disappointing. Why must people always tinker with a good well proven product
Same here, I loved the original flavour and the green tint this used to have, you are correct it's much sweeter now and not so gingery. I 5think I've cracked that though (not the geen tint) but the taste I up my whisky measurement and reduce the ginger wine measurement,I then 5ake a slice of fresh ginger about 3mm thick, unpeeled give it a whack with a heavy object, rolling pin, hammer whatever and drop it in my drink with a big cube of ice....try it,it's pretty darn good xx
This is a great wine. I have recently drank such. It has a very interesting and exotic taste.
Shame On You
Used to carry a half size bottle on my paper round in the mid winter months ( needless to say that as I was only 15, my parents did not know ! ). In those day the bottle top was a cork bung, made a very pleasant sound as it was pulled open. Very sad to see that the rich, syrupy green libation is no more. Will not buy it again now. Try Stones Ginger Wine, it is also a higher proof than "lightweight" Crabbies.

Why Not Green Anymore
So sad to open a new bottle of Crabbies Green Ginger Wine to find it is no longer the colour green which to knowledge it has been for the last 65 years. It is also not so syrupy as in the past. Very disappointed I think there will be plenty of other customers who will think the same.
I agree. It doesn’t taste the same.
Crannies deny that there is any difference in taste but there definitely is. They simply weren’t interested in customer feedback.
It’s now ordinary and sickly without that ginger hit of the original.
I’m very disappointed. It’s been my winter tipple if choice for over 40 years. I won’t be buying it anymore.

This Is The Best Ginger Wine In The World. I Wish
This is the best ginger wine in the world. I wish it would return to our supermarkets and local stores, but only a few now stock it. A gem in our world of mass production, one that should never be lost. I can't remember where I first tried this in whiskey mac, but on the Isle of Coll in Scotland, where I lived for a year, I realised that this was the best winter drink I had ever tasted. And not just that, it is wonderful for bad stomaches and tension. I still look for it in every supermarket and local store I go to.
AGREE... So SAD
It's the ginger that settles the tummy and tension, it's also good for anxiety.. If you have a trip on a boat and know you get a little seasick, have some ginger nut biscuits on you also some stem ginger or crystallised ginger xx
It was the best in the world. But no more since Crabbies is now brown and tastes nothing. Like it used to.
Ordinary. Awful.

For A Twist On The Seasonal Warm Winter Toddy, Dri
For a twist on the seasonal warm winter toddy, drink with lemonade and ice, makes for a really refreshing summer drink. Was introduced only recently and will never look back. Gorgeous!

It Makes The Best Hot Toddy I've Ever Had And Is L
It makes the best hot toddy I've ever had and is lovely to cook with as well. I live in the United States, but on my first visit to the UK years ago, I was introduced to this wine and bring back bottles of it every year. Take a jigger of the ginger wine, a shot of GOOD whiskey, honey, lemon and hot water and you'll never again be cold on a winter's day.

I Had A Bottle Given To Me As A Christmas Present,
I had a bottle given to me as a Christmas present, so I don't know how much it cost or where it was bought.
I found it a bit too cloying on its own, but it's very good to drink warm on a cold evening. Diluting it 2:1 with boiling water in a standard size mug works well (stir it thoroughly though, because it doesn't mix properly otherwise).
Pouring Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine "neat" over vanilla ice cream and a few chunks of candied ginger would also be very tasty, but I'll leave trying that until the summer.

Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine Has A Good Strong Tast
Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine has a good strong taste and powerful aroma with a magical green look in a clear half pint mug. Other ginger wines I have tried in the past have a reddish liquid inside a green bottle. This is the first to have a green liquid inside a green bottle. It's more expensive than other ginger wines but it's a good wine to try if bored with normal grape wines.
Sadly not green anymore

A Truly Fantabulous Drink Which Goes Well With Mos
A truly fantabulous drink which goes well with most of the normal things. For the perfect drink try a Ramshank: A Crabbies Green Ginger Wine Spritzer on the rocks with a hint of Rose's Lime Cordial. To finish off ad a roasted coffee bean for that extra panach !
You mean panache. Panaché is something different.

Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine Is Truly A Beautiful T
Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine is truly a beautiful thing. It's very very strong and syrupy and difficult to drink straight on it's own, but has a wonderful aroma of alcoholic ginger. On a winter evening however, just mix a measure of this with a measure of whiskey, add some ice and you have the perfect cocktail! Yum yum yum!
