Not Fit For Purpose

I bought this recently, worked fine for a few hours. I did not let the water dry out and noticed an orange glow in the box. I quickly unplugged the steamer and shook the box to allow the water to cover the element. I phoned Earlex who advised I return it to the store I bought it from. I was told by the store that I had not followed the instructions properly and I left the water to dry out. I did no such thing. I was told I should have checked through the cap that the filament was covered with water. How can this be done when the steamer is on? There is no line on the box to indicate a minimal water level. There are much better steamers out there, don't bother with this one. A complete waste of money.

It does exactly what is says on the tin. Basic,Simple to use and effective. wear gloves to stop any chance of scalding your hands. It saves up hours by not stripping wallpaper by the conventional method. Excellent value and recommended.

We Purchased An Earlex Ss125 Steam Wallpaper Strip

We purchased an Earlex SS125 Steam Wallpaper Stripper and had used it a couple of times. When it worked it was excellent. however when using it again this week it suddenly cut out. I followed the fault finding proceddure in the manusal and changed the fuses but with no success.Although under guarantee you cannot exchange in store, pointed out in manual, but have to contact Earlex. as we like miles away from there head office in Guildford we could not take it back to them to look at as they requested.All we wanted was to exchange for a new one locally but this did not seem possible. after 3 months and with very little use for it to go wrong so quickly was unsatisfactory. we are stll trying to get the matter resolved. earlesx are unwilling to pay the postage so we are in a catch 22 situation.
