Good Fun Panto, Brilliant Children Dancers.
A really fun time was had by all. Lots of interaction with the audience for both adults and the kids, mostly by the brilliant Carl Johns, as Simple Simon, who certainly kept things buzzing. Great baddie played by Don Gilet, who kept the boos coming and coming, so evil and bad as Fleshcreep. Lots of well-known tunes with lashings of humour, some great one liners. If your kids like the thrill of being scared then Blunderbore the biggest giant imaginable will certainly do the trick.
I didn't like the end scène when all the adults took front of stage and none of the children could be seen at all. After working so very hard I thought they deserved some visibility. In my opinion there was some wonderful dancing by the children from the Anne Gale school of Dance, the complexity of their routines and performance was outstanding! Their frog dance blew me away.
Loved it and may even go again.
Cannot understand why Mr Clarey was chosen as he has no acting skills and cannot sing or dance to save his life. I'm sure there are plenty of talented Gay or even Straight celebrities out there more suited to the gay friendly one liners that we had to endure.
I guess the busy schedule of performing twice daily can take its toll.
My 5 year old enjoyed the evening very much.
