We Arrived At The Due Time For A Restaurant Bookin
We arrived at the due time for a restaurant booking and were ushered into a lounge area exclusive to restaurant customers and a short while later our order was taken.Shortly afterwards we were ushered to our table, but because we had not wanted a starter we had to wait while all other costermers were served with their starters before our meal was served. Despite politely complaining at the delay, at which the lady proprieter kurtly pointed out that it was because we had not had a starter, we eventually received our meals approximately an hour after being seated at our table. When we had finished our meal, no one offered a sweet, which incidentally as it happens we did not want. Also, no body offered us coffee, which we did want and we had to get up and go and find a waitress to ask for coffee. By this time the land lady had either left or gone into the bar to talk to friends and you could forgive us for concluding that she was not really bothered about us.
If we were to rate this pub the rating would be 10 out of 10 for food but very sadly we would struggle to give it a mere 1 out of 10 for service. The charges for the experience most certainly justified a very much better service performance than this!!!!!!

We Had Friends To Stay For The Weekend And Wanted
We had friends to stay for the weekend and wanted to eat out for Sunday lunch. As it was Mothering Sunday and we were trying to book the afternoon before many places were fully booked and could not find space for us.
However The Cross Keys Inn accomodated us despite being fully booked. Due to it being Mothering Sunday, lunch was a 3 course meal for £20 per person. The menu choices were varied but not over the top and each course was fantastic. We were not rushed and not fussed over but made to feel welcome and had not trouble getting the attention of a staff member when we needed something.
All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal and I hvae not had such a good value for money meal for a long time. We will definitely be returning in the near future and will be recommending to all our friends.

The Cross Keys Is Almost Missed As It Is At The Op
The Cross Keys is almost missed as it is at the opposite side of the village from the other pub/restaurants in Ombersley. It has a different ambience to its competitors with its cosy bar areas for delicious bar meals, and there is a separate smart evening restaurant for a-la-carte bookings, with a comfortable lounge for pre-dinner drinks or after-dinner coffee. The pub offers not only excellent food but also friendly service throughout. We have had many happy lunchtimes and evenings there and always come away feeling completely full and satisfied with the meal. The owners are dedicated to giving a high standard of food and service and in our opinion it is a gem in the heart of Worcestershire.
