The menu we could choose from was the following (although they will probably change their menu periodically). Choice of Starters:- Pea & Ham Broth, Lightly Fried Chicken Livers - served in a puff pastry case, topped with a softly boiled hens egg & a white wine & leek sauce. Roast Quail - filled with a sun blushed tomato & smoked bacon risotto. Balantine of Duck & Foir Gras Terrine - served with a plum duff. Smoked Salmon & Lobster Terrine - served with a warmed tomato & basil brioche. Steamed Courgette Flower - filled with an asparagus mousse & served with white truffle sauce. Main Courses:- Fillet of Venison
- encased in a short crust & duxel pastry, served with a juniper & pink ginger sauce.
Whole Roast Wood Pigeon - glazed with honey & truffle, served on a white bean cassoulet.
Poulet Noir - leg boned & filled with forest mushrooms, supreme scented with truffle.
Steamed Steak & Kidney Pudding - served with a thyme gravy & glazed root vegetables.
Peppered Fillet of Beef - garnished with a fried courgette flower filled with foie gras & served with a malt whiskey sauce. Roast Rack of Lamb - with a crab flan & mild curry sabyon.
Scallop En Croute - served with a julienne of vegetable & saffron broth. Mussels - cooked in a coriander chilli & coconut sauce. Brochet of Tiger Prawns - & lemon grass, glazed in honey & pomegranate dressing. Monkfish - lightly roasted with avocado, served with a plum tomato & smoked prawn tian. Roasted Whole Sea Bass - filled with aromatic herbs & spices, finished with a thai glaze. Pan Fried Turbot - served with wild mushroom & asparagus. Lunchtime menus very reasonable, dinner anything from £20 - £50 per person depending what you have and if you have pre-dinner drinks and wine with the meal. Well worth a try. Food I couldn't fault - delicious (and I'm fussy). By the way, I had the wood pigeon for my main course, the best I've ever tasted. Service excellent, a thoroughly enjoyable dinner (have been twice again since). Open every day from 12 noon to midnight.
