Excellent Game

Having finished Killzone 2 few years ago, and loving it, I waited with great anticipation for Killzone 3 to arrive, and than waited for the inevitable price drop. A few months after release I purchased it for £20, nearly half release price.

I only play the campaign mode in majority of these games as from experience, you only get embarrassed online. The game itself is a follow on from Killzone 2, with some sort of mangled storyline connected to it’s prequel, that didn’t bother me too much as my main intention was to complete it and gain respect from my teenage kids (who ridiculed me about my cumbersome and slow reactions using the PS3 controller).

As expected the game itself has improved graphics, sound, and bits added like 3d option, playstation move option….and so on. The game plays very much like K2 with some extra weaponry & flying packs thrown in. I completed the game playing on and of daily (30-40 minutes max) within 2 weeks, and was surprised on how easily I done it in normal mode. I than played it in ‘elite’ settings and again (as I was now familiar with the maps & enemy routines) finished within 2 weeks. To be honest the only difference I found was that I took less damage before dying. With my confidence high I began an assault on the multiplayer option with bots (normal setting), and was bought down to planet Helghast quickly, needless to say I needed to harness the controls or improve my reaction time (or both if possible)! By playing lots, lots more. Excellent game !!
