What Can I Say About This Game That Hasn't Been Sa
What can I say about this game that hasn't been said before? Not much I suppose, just that I lived and breathed this as a nipper and still get excited about playing it today. Just look at those colourful graphics they just make you happy looking at them and along with Zelda : Ocarina of Time I would say this was the best Nintendo has ever released.
After nearly 2 years of waiting (Why Nintendo?) British gamers finally got there hands on this title in 1992 and it went on to sell around 20 million copies worldwide. Considering this also came packaged with the console at one point that's quite an achievement and nothing came close to this game for quite a few years with many quoting it as the best platformer of all time, I'd have to agree with that!
A possible 96 levels were playable if you could find all the hidden exits (though it was possible to get to Bowser playing through just 12) with each and every one packed with some of the finest level design the world has ever seen. We also see the first appearance from everybodys favourite fire breathing dinosaur Yoshi as Mario's sidekick. You could ride on Yoshi's back eating anything from apples to Koppa Troppers and spiting them back out at the various enemies throughout the stages.
All in all SMW is an superb experience from start to finish and is as essential as games get!!
