The Philips Dvp-3005 Is A Terrible Dvd Player. I B

The Philips DVP-3005 is a terrible DVD player. I bought it because it was cheap (around £30) and I wish I didn't! It has very few features, none of which are very good. It's hard to set up and complicated to use. What I dislike most about this DVD player is that no matter what DVD, even if it is brand new, it makes all of them skip! I have yet to watch a DVD that I haven't had to take out half way through the film and put back in.

This DVD player has actually scratched my DVDs or more than one occasion just from playing them!

The sound and the image quality are ok, but this is really a minor positive that has made no difference to my bad experience with this product.

If you are considering buying this player, don't! Invest in one that is bit more expensive; trust me it will be worth it in the long run!

Very Disappointing How It Just Packed Up But From

Very disappointing how it just packed up but from what I hear it's an all too common issue with this machine. Just stopped playing any DVDs whatsoever, changed region code and it made no difference. (To change code go to 'Preference Settings' in your system menu, then just type in the numbers 1, 3, 5, 5, 6, 6, select region 0 and press 'OK'.) If anyone can think of what else may be wrong and what I could do to fix it then please feel free to post it on here for me to read - would buy another DVD player but I'm a student so unfortunately cannot afford extravagances!

I Just Wondered If Someone Could Help Us Out On Th

I just wondered if someone could help us out on this one. After trying to tune the Philips DVP-30005 DVD player into progressive scan mode, we lost the picture altogether, and we could not get it back no matter what we tried.

Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just because we are not technically minded?

I'm Having Some Problems Regarding Region Compatib

I'm having some problems regarding region compatibility with my Philips DVP-3005 DVD player. Anyone with any knowledge on how to solve this problem is welcome to leave a comment.

Hi,

I can't actually get to the preference setting, it skips right past it. Any help greatly appreciated as I have a whole heap of US DVD's I can't play!

itshimthere

It is only region 2 so you can unlock it into a multi region player by doing the following:

- Press "System Menu" key to enter Set Up menu.

- Move to "Preference Page" using arrow keys to the left or to the right.

- Press the following sequence in the remote control: 135566

- A menu indicating "Region Code" will appear.

- Change region using arrow keys to top or down. Region Code = 0 will play all regions.

- Press "System Menu" key to exit Set Up menu.

hope this helps (had same problem this week so sorry for late comment).
