Detailed, Dynamic And Engaging

I was using a modern highly rated amplifier before this, but it sounded distant and it just didn't make the music to to life. Then a friend suggested that I try a British made amp, and this was one of the better ones to start with.

When I hooked it up to my existing system, I was swept away by the sweet, detailed and airy highs, the natural and silky reproduction of the midrange of both voice and instruments. The bass was rich and clear with fast, clean transients. My music developed dynamic punch coupled with great rhythmic pacing with this amplifier.

The sound is involving and it brings many recordings to life. I began to hear instruments that were obscured previously, and my children started dancing to the music like I've never seen with my last amp.

I had one on these for 5 years. When i upgraded to B&W 603s1, i realised this amp was not good. Very bright treble, and no control of the bass - it was very boomy. I had to build custom spikes stands to lift the 603's 15 cm of the ground, so had them double spiked. This helped the bass issue somewhat. I did not have money to change the amp, so put up with it till i could get something else.
