Fabulous Fishing Trip
Two beautiful lakes set in an idillic and peaceful rural french location. Food catering far in excess of what you might reasonably expect; decent equipment and helpful guidance from owner and staff provided. One week; 8 mates; and exactly one hundred fish in mint condition between us .... 15 of them bigger than the historical magical figure of 44lb. .. the best being 55lb. By following the few simple rules, you will catch, and the fish will remain in top condition. Enjoy!!

Incredible Fishing Venue
This was my 4th visit after first falling in love with the venue back in 2007. From the moment you are picked up you can tell this is an exceptional run water which is demonstrated in the welcome video that you watch while traveling the 45min trip from the airport to the lake.
I don't fish too often these days so wanted a venue where I stand a good chance of putting a bend in my rod... Lake Cadozan has Never failed to produce.
Each time I have fished here something has changed from the previous trip, the guys I dealt with are constantly trying to improve the venue to make it a better experience. This year we fished the Dam swim which has been moved to allow better features to fish to for both anglers. The wind was blowing our way and within 20mins of boating out the first bait we had our first run. My PD before this trip was 43lb... I ended up breaking it four times during the trip with a 44lb, 49lb, 51.5lb and my dream fish a 54lb mirror. 12fish in total with an average fish size of 40lb ! My mate fishing the same swim had 2 fish over 50lb one of which was a 51.5lb common.
All anglers on the lake caught well with 4 other 50lb+ coming out from other swims all around the lake (8 different 50's in one week, fantastic).
The food, the hospitality, the facilities are second to none (I have tried 2 other French venues and none come close).
Many anglers had fished the venue before and were rebooking for another week the same year and the following year .... I most certainly will be returning soon.

All Inclusive And More
I would HIGHLY recommend visiting Brittany Mill Lakes to anybody wishing to catch big carp, without the hassle of having to drive and survive. From the moment of booking you are looked after in such a manner you cant help but respect and applaud what the owners of the venue/establishment do. Flights are booked on your behalf, you just turn up at the airport with your booking reference, get your tickets and that is it. At the moment of landing in france, you are greeted, your luggage is loaded into the vehicle and you are driven to the site, which is set in beautiful surroundings.
The fishing is excellent, whichever lake you book onto. Having fished on lake Cadouzan on my first visit, I opted to have a try on the trickier Mill Lake, and was blown away. It has that special intimate feeling about it that grabs you as soon as you set foot onto your peg. The bivvys are spacious, and pegs are thought out with regards to layout and spacing. There may semm a lot of rules set in place with rig materials, hooks etc, but once you start fishing and see the condition of the fish, which all look like they have never seen a hook before, you begin to understand why, as they are immaculate.
As for the food . . , well, what is there to say other than WOW!!!! Every morning you are delivered a filling breakfast baguette, with a different filling every day, along with a freshly cooked 3 course meal in the evening. The only bad thing I do have to complain about is however, the fact I dont want to leave after being blessed with such an amazing experience. You can see why 85-90% of the people that book each year are return customers.why pay more and settle for less. All in all, its all inclusive and more.
So thank you Brittany Mill Lakes for new PBs, feeding me like a king, and making dreams come true

Wow, What A Place!!!!
I have just returned from my second visit to Brittany Mill Lakes, of which I booked immediately after my first visit. I am currently getting some numbers together to arrange my 3rd holiday with them.
This place is phenomenal, you couldn't ask for more. The swims are spacious, and you can tell the guy has put a lot of thought into this, giving every swim room and features. The fishing is unreal, check out some of their catch reports on their website/Facebook site. The fish are immaculate, I believe this is due to the rules they employ here. He obviously has a wealth of knowledge regarding not just fishing, but also the fish themselves and their habitat. The most seasoned angler would benefit from having a brief conversation with him and he is more than willing to share what he knows.
I have now fished both lakes, and although caddy seems to be the most popular, I prefer Mill. There just seems to be something special about that lake that I can't explain.
The food is amazing, really amazing. Everybody on both occasions has commented on how good the food is. You will more than likely try and get them to give you the recipe for the cakes she serves...... We did and we failed!!
I genuinely could not suggest a single thing to them to make the place any better. The fact that on both of my visits, 85-90% of the group were returning customers speaks for itself.

Best Overall Lake I've Fished
I have had 32 fishing holidays in France Belgium and Holland since '96.some of the venues I've more than once, some where via a well known Angling holiday company and other's where via word of mouth, In which I find is the best way to choose a holiday. Half of the trip's where with a guided mini bus/coach with 10/14 other anglers and the rest where drive and survive. Difference is that on a mini bus / coach you are limited to what you can bring.1 rod bag 1 tackle bag 1 bivvy 1 bed chair and clothes. this is mainly to the weight limits of the vehicle used and lets face it some anglers want to bring everything they own even the kitchen sink. Drive and survive is different as you can take what you want in your car if your on your own or bring a mate. only thing is unless the lake does a food package, you either have to take your own food and cooking equipment, or buy the food in local town when you get there which could cost you more in travel and food cost.
Drive and survive holidays usually cost about £600 upwards depending on the lake you fish. yes there are cheaper, but I use this as an average price. this includes your weeks fishing and ferry .usually Dover - Calias then you have the average travel time of approx. 3 1/2 to 4 hours drive and toll roads (this is both ways don't forget) and the bigger the car the bigger the price you pay This on average will cost you over £1000 all in maybe more depending what you buy and where you travel
A friend of mine asked if he could come with me 1 time he gave me a link to Brittany Mills lakes I read this site for about 6 hours it looked and sounded great You get to the airport and they do the rest. The price of my 1st visit was £629 each which was flight fishing food and fishing. They pick you up from Nantes airport about 40 min drive to the lake and on route have a video you watch ref rules etc .My friend has never fished outside the UK and his best fish was 28lb 10oz .after reading the Mill site, looking at the pictures and videos I told him he would catch 6 pb's and he to me to go away in uncertain terms
On arriving at the lake we where given a welcome cuppa, sandwiches and cake, they took the deposits while doing the paperwork as we settled in to what peg we where going to go in. All equipment was supplied, the only thing you take is reels alarms tackle box head lamp and sleeping bag. Yes I know what your going to say. I said the same about the equipment but I was more than satisfied with the equipment .yes there was a few problems with mainly the bait boat but if you spoke to him, he did sort it .maybe as they are used by everyone if it was their own they would take more care of them.
Onto the lakes well not a bit of rubbish anywhere as they supply bags and bins even an ashtray was supplied the lakes looked fantastic nice and clean platforms and surroundings with the wide life and quiet and as ive been to many other lakes theres nothing worse than seeing fag buts and bottle tops all over the place and yes I am a smoker
Facilities where fantastic down to the toilets. nice and clean 2 toilets 2 hand basins and 2 wet rooms with plenty hot running water, this is normal at home but in France i've had the old fashioned way a hole in the ground with a plank of wood over the top and a cheap cold metal shed round you and no water you had to take a bucket from the lake As for the wet rooms its nice to get a hot shower now and then and don't forget not every angler is a clean angler as you will notice on the minibus home lol
Food wise well his better half is a great cook at 9 am ish he brings you your breakfast baguette to your swim You can order a baguette for dinner time if you wish and at tea time everyone goes over to the house for a 3 corse meal hot. plentyful and delicious .I have not heard of any moans about her food. yes some like it hotter etc but your going to get that anywhere
Now to the fish remember my friend hasn't fished outside the UK.as he is disabled as I am I helped him all through the week putting his bait out landed the fish photos etc he ended up catching 8 new pb's and with 15 fish he had 1 x double 6 x 20's 6 x 30's and 2 x 40's a 41lb and 40lb 8ox mirror myself I had 16 fish 1 x single 3 x doubles 7 x 20's 3 x 30's and 2 x 40's next trip 32 fish 2 x doubles 13 x 20's 12 x 30's 4 x 40's and a 52 lb mirror carp next trip 2 x doubles 4 x 20's 8 x 30's and a 40lb common just 4oz off my pb and just returned over a week ago (4th trip) this time with my brother who has never fished outside the UK and not had a fish bigger than a 12 1/2 mirror I had 1 bouble 6 x 20's 10x 30's 4 x 40's of which 2 x 44lb mirrors and a 43lb 4oz common a new pb by 3lb and a double hook up of a 44 lb mirror for me and a 36lb 8 oz common for my brother who himself had 5 pb's including 2 x 30's
And at the end of the week we settle the bill(bar bill...bait beer etc ) deposits returned. People ask me where I go fishing ..I tell them the link fantastic surroundings. fish. food the whole place. They are fantastic host even when your into a fish he doesn't stand there and watch you unless you ask him for a hand.Im 56 yrs old now and this holiday all I do is pack a suitcase drive to the airport no stress no strain its all done for you
P.S. ive booked already for another 2 trips next year
all items sold in shop bait beer etc are same as UK

Second Year Fishing Here, Wonderful Place, Owners And Carp!
My partner and I feel compelled to write a review following our second visit to Brittany Mill Lakes, this review is based on both of our visits and starts from the beginning with booking and receiving confirmation, through to going home.
On booking we received a receipt of payment then after final payment we received our flight and booking details, it was all very clear and easy to follow.
The check in at Manchester was easy and painless and we were surprised about how good the flight was, even though the plane had propellers !!!
We were concerned at how we would be met at Nantes airport and kept a look out for other likely fishermen on the flight to follow, we needn't of worried as our hosts met us at the airport and it was obvious who they were!
IF YOUR A SMOKER YOU CANT GET CIGS ON THE WAY OUT BUY CIGS HERE AT NANTES AIRPORT 7E a pack for Bensons.
So friendly introductions at the arrivals lounge (AWFUL AIRPORT)and a short walk to the land rovers, great time to meet your fellow fishermen.
The journey to the lakes took just over half an hour, you are played a DVD about the rules and fish handling, this really is just common sense and is genuinely about fish care and respect.
On arrival at the lakes, its actually quite breath taking, they are in a nature reserve and the surroundings are beautiful.
We were itching to get out there and start fishing, but we were required to provide a small deposit for any damage we may do to their equipment, provide health insurance details and purchase the bait/tackle from the small but well stocked onsite shop (Has kit kats)
Then we were off.....30 mins later 40lb4oz Mirror Wow !!!
First night there dinner was delivered to our bivvy, burger and chips and it was lovely! Saves winding in for dinner on our first night.
Breakfast is also delivered hot to your bivvy about 09:00 every morning, I cannot describe in words how welcome a fresh from the local bakers French stick filled with English bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, mushrooms and fried bread is.... drooling now remembering!!!
Lunch is an added extra, I think its 20E for a weeks worth, not sure as we didn't bother, others did and commented on the good value and how nice it was??
Now dinner....... YUM! 3 courses home made curry nights, roast dinners, pate just simply YUM! I am personally allergic to cheese, I let the owners know in advance so on one night instead of the roast camembert everyone else had I was served garlic mushrooms, really nothing is too much trouble! Everyone on both of our trips has commented on the quality of the food and the great great service from the owners.
The fishing was fantastic on our first visit with lots of massive carp and a sturgeon of 120lb, the second trip was slightly slower as it was still cold, however there were many big 50Lb fish caught and we had a 40+ fish and many 30lb fish, these fish are of an amazing standard and quite beautiful!
The surroundings are simply breath taking....Bright green lizards, wood peckers, birds of prey, king fishers etc etc we named 21:10 as bat o clock as the many species of bats are amazing...we also had a tame chaffinch the was rather partial to the cookies purchased from the shop.
I know weve rambled on a bit here but I cannot recommend this place higher, we were treated like friends, not paying guests on both visits, the advice from the owners was invaluable nearly every one the lakes was a returning customer.
We have already booked to trips next year for April and June and cannot wait, I have heard so many horror stories about French carp fishing holidays, have a look at their face book page We loved it on both trips, you simply cannot go wrong!
If I was to find anything at all to moan about and I really am being hyper critical it would be the bait boats, however I understand from the owner he is aware of this and is dealing with it right now....They listen to us guests!

Wow What A Place!
Fishing period 23/8/15-30/08/15
I decided to book Brittany Mills a year before i went with my Dad and mate.
Needless to say we are already booked for next year and counting down the days already.
We flew from Luton and arrived in Nantes where the person I dealt with as waiting with a lady to transport all the lads to the lake. From the moment they meet us they were both very friendly and extremely accommodating.
The place its self is picture perfect and really is a bit of heaven! We were fishing Mill lake who has its famous resident "Merve" who my dad hooked and he took off like a train.
The fishing its self was superb, my dad is not an experienced carp angler and he has 2 40s and numerous 20s and 30s. I had 20 fish over the week up to 43lb which i was over the moon with.
The equipment is great, 3 carp rods which are more than adequate for the job, very comfortable bivvy and bed chair (as well as a day chair), carp mats, slings, nets, pods etc. The only thing we needed was our terminal tackle etc. No issues with the equipment at all. The bait boats are supplied at an extra cost however these are excellent and the guy replaces the batterys every evening.
There is even a gas stove on the pegs for that all important cuppa!
The breakfast on a morning is brought to the peg and is amazing! Cant ask for more than a large brekkie roll! very well received after a night of constant broken sleep with your alarms going mental.
The evening meal, this was the best by far i have had anywhere. The first night is delivered to your peg as the last thing you want is to leave your peg the first few hours you get here. The second night was a full lamb dinner with the full trimmings! I was ready to book again just after that haha. The meals are first class and extremely tasty and there is a great atmosphere around the table with everyones saying how they,ve been getting on.
the person I dealt with also has an onsite shop where you can get any tackle you need (or forgotten) as well as stocking up on fresh bollies for the next day.
I could not of asked for a better holiday as the equipment, hospitality, pegs, food and most importantly the fishing were out of this world and i cant wait to go back.
Thanks for everything and see you again soon!
I flew from Southampton not Luton!! ooops

Awful, Disgusting Service Stolen Money
worst experience ever ,never ever consider going back, treated like second class citizen given rubbish broken equipment ,didn't even pull a peg just dumped us into dead mans swim, stole money deposits etc and gave us a broken bait boat that went round in a circle and dropped bait 3 yards from the swim,,the rules he states must be followed apply to no one ,the bait on sale at the shop is older than god, everyone else took their own bait! Food well i would not feed it to my dog or anyones dog for that matter. I have thrown away better rods than were supplied and we were only taken on because two from another party dropped out we were only there to make up his money, put on the wrong lake and treated like dirt.never in 40 years of fishing have i or my friend been treated this way.this is all honest there was more but my solicitors are dealing with it for now. all that is promised on the site is a bag full of lies, in truth turn up with what you want ,do as you want ,but stay out of the dead mans swim you will get mugged off.
Maybe the problem isnt the venue, the owner, the food or the swim you were "allocated", maybe its you. I fished the swim in question at the of the season when temperatures were dropping and it wasnt fishing its absolute best, I did however catch enough fish (of pristine quality may I add), to want to go back again, which I have done since.
The food is out of this world and cooked to perfection, so if you wouldnt feed it to your dog, maybe your dog should stop being such a snob, because its more than good enough for the variety of people from all over the country that visit year in year out, so much so, everybody I have met whilst there cant believe it isnt prepared by a michelin star chef. All the equipment was of top quality, ranging from the JRC bivvy, cradle and rods through to the baitboats. We did have an issue with a baitboat, which was resolved instantly.
In other words, your the bad egg everybody could do without
It is one thing to have a genuine customer complaint and write a bad review, but it is something else when you have to lie to generate that bad review.
I have just returned from my second trip to Brittany Mill Lakes (literally just walked through the door an hour ago). This trip was booked immediately after my first, and would you believe that I am booking my 3rd in the next week or so.
Everything in the above review is false. The food, equipment, swims and hospitality are all spot on. I can not rate this place highly enough and I genuinely couldn't suggest a single thing to Steve and Andrea to make my stay more pleasurable.
For you to try and tarnish and befouled thier obvious hard work and reputation with a complete pack of lies, truly shows what a vile human being you are.
I would just like to set the record straight on this review as this was far from the truth. I was fishing Brittany Mill lakes the same time as this "Angler" and he was nothing but a nuisance.
First of all he was late for the bus by 30 mins when they were due to pick us up as they were just smoking outside the airport and made no attempt to find us.
They had no regard for the rules at all. At dinner they would just help them selves to beer out of the fridge and not advise. He told them numerous times to just ask him to get them and he would put in on their tabs however they continued to push their luck and things just felt awkward at the table. They felt they could do what they want when they want, even as far as going into the kitchen area again after Steve asked numerous times they could not enter there as food was being cooked.
Equipment is spot on, no issue with rods or bait boats. He replaces the batterys every evening.
Food is unreal, by far the best i have had on any holiday nevermind a fishing holiday.
As for dead man's swims!!! Haha don't make me laugh, the lads that were fishing Caddy on the next peg to you went in your swim after you left and got numerous forties and even a fifty out of it you plonker.
He did not give you that swim, you decided on that swim as the other six lads were together and they asked if they could get 3 pegs in a row and you agreed. If you had not agreed then he would have draw.
Bait is mainline frozen and no issues with the bait at all.
I have fished Brittany Mills once last year and i have to say its the best around barr none. Please dont, let this knacker put you off going as you will missing out on something special if you do. Look at the rest of the reviews...i rest my case
Hi I am booked on for lake for 2016 it as been in the planning for 3 years so when I stumbled on to this,s persons comments I was puzzled because I have only read positive things about Brittany mills France but a article like this can set doubts into your head so I started to search for reviews around the carp forums not one bad review then I revisit this persons article and their is a reply from Brittany mills.see you in 2016.
Should anyone wish to look up his name on Facebook (which this review has removed) to see what he posts and hence what type of character he is just post a message on our Facebook page requesting it and i will give it to you.
