Keswick, Thirlspot, Kings Head Inn and Hotel

Go for location, food and comfort not friendliness stayed at the hotel for one night in July, it is a really nice place. The location is fantastic and the interior a good mix of modern and traditional surroundings. The food in the restaurant was really good and rooms comfy.

The only let down, and it was quite a big one that effected our enjoyment, is the staff. We tried to ask one person about the area but she couldn't understand English and walked off.

Later one young boy who was rather well spoken and polite earlier, was dumbfounded when we enquired about the dinner menu, and twice walked off with an answer of "I don't really know".

In the bar in the afternoon, all you could hear was two staff members shouting at each other, in some incomprehensible language while watching the T.V.

All this on a really quiet day. Shame, it is a lovely little place a good building, nice bedrooms and great food.

Great break, good views, large portions of food, nice manners, clean and welcoming. I'd recommend.

I felt let down by my experience as it was one of my friends who suggested we try the hotel as they really enjoyed there time. I wouldn't advise any of my friends to go there.

Probably the best hotel I've stayed in. Friendly staff, excellent food and a four poster bed!! We didn't want to leave!

The food is good at the Kings Head Inn and Hotel in Keswick, but the benefit is absolutely wiped out by the service. The bar staff refused to bring drinks to our table, and demanded that we order at the bar rather than coming to the table (a 10 foot walk), despite the fact that we were the only people in the bar.
