Spacious, Clean And Friendly
We were worried by the previous negative review before we booked, but following a couple of emails were satisfied that we should go ahead. We are very pleased that we did - the villa is in a great location, has a very spacious and comfortable living area and it is perfectly clean throughout. The people who greeted us were friendly and couldn't be more helpful.
The kitchen is well equipped and the pool area has plenty of recliners, pergola with table and chairs and a wood burning stove for the enthusiastic. The villa is a short walk from the square, which (if unlike us who took a wrong turn) is a reasonably flat stroll to a number of small restaurants and local shop.
Overall, this was a good choice and we are very pleased we came.

Do Not Rent This Villa Until You Read This Review
I have taken some time to write this review but I think it is important that people should know how bad this villa and the owners are in dealing with their customers. My family and I have rented holiday villas on at least a dozen occasions over the last 20 years, and most have been good, some were excellent. On the rare occasion when we have had a problem the local agent dealt with the issue and we carried on and had a great holidays, and I have never required to write a negative review as a result.
We want anyone who reads this to know that Pissouri is a beautiful place and we would think about going back for another holiday. We rented Jacaranda villa in the summer of 2012 for 2 weeks. The villa is very near Pissouri Village and easy walking distance to most restaurants, shop and bars in the village. This is the only positive thing I can say about the accommodation.
One of our criteria is value for money but with the experience we have this does not mean that we go for the cheapest option and we are prepared to pay the market rate for a good quality villa. The interior has been poorly maintained and the kitchen and main bathroom in particular are in a bad state. Villa Jacaranda is old and dirty and it is certainly not a luxury villa as described on the website. When we arrived we immediately saw that the pool was dirty as there was a scum around the lining at the top. It seemed to be sun oil from previous use. The house was just as bad there were dirty dishes in the kitchen cupboards, hair in the drains of the showers and the floors were covered in dirt and dust. It looked as if the villa had not been cleaned for months. The main bathroom was filthy and had mould all the way around the bath taps and the shower curtain. The 2 bedrooms that were described as “twin rooms” had bunk beds that had been separated. There was also rubble lying in the garden behind the extension.
The owner’s wife called at the villa at the villa to speak to us. We asked for the house and pool to be cleaned. We were told that this was not possible to have the house cleaned and that it would be too difficult to clean the pool. We took the decision to move to another villa and carry on with our holiday which we enjoyed. However this review is just to inform anyone else who is thinking of booking Jacaranda Villa to seriously consider alternatives in the area.
This booking comprised of two different families both from Glasgow who arrived mid afternoon rather worse-for-wear - and remained that way for most of their stay - contacted me upon their arrival demanding a refund because there were not enough flowers in the garden. My wife met them and confirmed they were unsteady on their feet; she took them round the property, they then realised it was over a thousand square meters of garden with flowers and mature fruit trees. We investigated all of their complaints - many of which were totally ridiculous - and found that not one of them could be justified in any way. Sadly, there was no appeasing these two couples as their sole intention was to get a cash refund from the start of their holiday; veiled threats about villa reviews were made when they realised that their intentions were not going to be successful.
Although disappointed with this 'review', after speaking with other villa owners in Cyprus who have had similar guests-from-hell, we feel fortunate we've never had such guests beforehand - please see all other reviews concerning this villa including ones after this 'review' - These two couples certainly made quite a name for themselves whilst in Pissouri and doubt they will ever be welcomed back.

Lovely Place For A Honeymoon
For our honeymoon we wanted a fairly quiet resort with a nice beach yet good access to the rest of the Island. Pissouri fitted the bill nicely. Its easy to get to from Paphos, and has a much nicer beach than other parts of western Cyprus. Indeed, we had heard good things about Coral Bay, on the other side of Paphos, but we visited there on a day trip and the beach was awful. I will do a separate review of that though.
The beach in Pissouri is well maintained, with reasonable sunbed hire. It is cheaper at the left hand side of the beach, and if you are coming by car, you want to head left too. The parking on the left side of Pissouri is free, whereas the right hand side costs money.
There are free showers at the beach too, and it is a very laid back place.
The surrounding countryside is gorgeous too. Aphrodites rock, nearby, is spectacular, and if you head inland you very soon hit some spectacular scenery.
All in all, Pissouri makes a welcome change from the more hectic parts of Cyprus. It is nothing whatsoever like East Cyprus, and even Limmasol.

Jacaranda Villa Pissouri Village
We would also like to recommend Jacaranda villa we booked with Pissouri-villas.com, Jacaranda is perfectly located in a quiet area, only a few minutes walk from the traditional village square where all the tavernas and activities are situated. The villa was very clean and well equipped and has a magnificent ten metre swimming pool. There are several shaded areas outside with table & chairs which is ideal for dining al-fresco, The villa has a large garden at the rear which contains a variety of fruit trees including Orange, Lemon & grapefruit. We found it very good value for money and will return again.
The village is on of the best in Cyprus, it's been kept very traditional with plenty of family run tavernas that offer a variety of food, both Cypriot & international, all of which is to a very high standard. There are also supermarkets, banks, butchers and a family run bakery in the village.
Pissouri is approx halfway between Limassol and Paphos and has a beautiful beach and bay with a three star & a 5 star hotel on the beach front.

This Was Our Third Consecutive Visit To Pissouri,
This was our third consecutive visit to Pissouri, each time staying at Jacaranda villa with Pissouri-villas.com. The villa is spotlessly clean and perfectly located only a few minutes walk from the village square.
In our opinion you cannot find fault with Pissouri, my family absolutely adores the place, the village is tranquil, has superb taverns, restaurants & bars. The 'Cyprus night' in the village square on Wednesday nights - is an absolute MUST.
My family summed it up beautifully by saying: " If you haven't been to Pissouri - you haven't lived! "
We've already booked Jacaranda villa for 2010.

Relaxing, enjoyable, friendly and not expensive. A village where you can relax, enjoy beautiful scenery, friendly village people, we have enjoyed excellent food in many of the local taverns including the Pissouri Square Tavern (inexpensive) through to the Bunch of Grapes which has a moderately priced menu. Accommodation is available in numerous villas of varying sizes, many with own pool. We have enjoyed 6 different summer holidays in this village.

I Had Been To Cyprus On Business Before And Stayed
I had been to Cyprus on business before and stayed in the Akrotiri area (Episkopi to be exact) and fell in love with Cyprus straight away. We then decided to go to Pissouri based on what we had seen of it online, and when we arrived, the photos didn't do the village justice. It was a picturesque square full of tavernas and a few bars, and a stall selling the most amazing fresh crepes!! There is a small mini mart and 3 little banks with ATM facility, and some ex pat bars, but not loud or tacky. Pissouri is an ideal location for anyone wanting a relaxing yet fun holiday, and is also suited to families with older children. The terrain of the village is quite steep, so those with mobility problems may find it a bit taxing. Paphos airport is about 30 mins drive away, and Larnanca is around an hours drive, and Larnaca does seem to have a greater selection of flights from the UK than Paphos, but it's cheaper too, yet quite busy when full with charter flights from the UK, Germany and CIS. There are quite a few military installations nearby, but the only way you know you may have strayed near or onto the base is a sign welcoming you to sovereign territory! A trip to Mount Olympus, about an hour from Pissouri by car is well worth the effort. All pine forests and villages, its a welcome respite from the mid summer heat ith the shade of the trees. The village of Omodos with its churches and cobbled square is also a great trip out. Beware those who do not like hairy driving though. The Cypriots may drive on the same side of the road, but their road ettiquette is far from that of the UK!!
