Not So Pleasant Anymore
After several suggests from friends and family, I booked Bangkok Boutique Hotel for my family vacations in summers. Although summers is a bad time to visit tropical areas but that’s the only option we had. Upon my arrival, the hotel seemed reasonable to me but as we proceeded to our room, we were horrified to see that it was extremely unclean with bed sheets that had strains and looked as if management had been neglecting their housekeeping for a long time. After calling the housekeeping, they did clean the room but we were unsure whether to use any of the linen or towels there after seeing the condition previously. Breakfast was not out of the ordinary. Management did many cost saving techniques such as no juice only water.

Greatly Disappointed
My wife and I were regular customers of this hotel between 2009 and April 2010. We were very happy with it's quality of service, the helpful, cheerful staff and it's convenient location near to the Asok station.
What a difference two and a half years has made!
This time (August 2012) we had booked for two nights at the end of our visit to Thailand and were looking forward to seeing our familiar haunt again. We immediately noticed that all the staff were different, but I must say that they were as helpful and cheery as before. Unfortunately, that seemed to be the only thing which had changed! The decor and seating in reception were still the same; and then we were shown up to our room. My wife, on inspecting the bed declared it unsuitable - and she was right. The sheets had old stains on them and had a 'waxen' look to them. On pulling back the top sheet we found some hair in the bed - one with a definite intimate association!
I rang to complain and shortly a member of staff came and inspected the bed. Without further ado, we were moved to a superior room - it had a DVD player and a jacussi in it. The layout of this room was not at all good. The air conditioner was close to the bed and blasted cold air directly onto us. I switched it off during the night, but had to turn it back on a little later because of the humidity/heat. The blinds in this room were also in need of repair and I couldn't get the TV to work until we got a replacement remote. The jacussi did as it was supposed to do!
Breakfast used to be an enjoyable experience, but the first thing I noticed here was thhet there were no longer any cereals on offer. I felt the breakfast offerings were not at all geared to the western palate. Fortunately we know of a terrific little coffee shop not far from the hotel and made good use of it!
All in all, our visit to the Bangkok Boutique Hotel was very disappointing, but we feel it is not beyond redemption - it simply needs a complete makeover with a hefty cash injection. Unfortunately we won't risk it and sadly won't be back.
