Superb Location Would Recommend
Stayed for the weekend as part of a review for mydreamcaravan.co.uk. Staff very polite and helpful. Caravan clean and the site is very well maintained. Manor house is beautiful.
Would recommend to others, as the park is in such a beautiful part of the UK.

Disappointed
Have just returned home after a week at Trelawne Manor in Cornwall.
I am currently recovering from cancer and was looking forward to a good break.
I must say that I was highly let down.
The Restaurant ( Dated Cafe ) was very disappointing. The food was so bad on the first visit that we decided to eat elsewhere for the rest of the week. I ordered the pasta bake which had been blitzed in a micro wave, resulting in the pasta being hard and dry. Oven chips were not cooked fully and were dry and powdery.
When we mentioned this to the only staff member the answer we received was "oh". No apology.
As for the fishing?
The lake was in a terrible state, covered in thick weed and fishing was near impossible. One resident explained that he had tried to clear some weed but was told by staff to stop.
With this much weed there cannot be enough oxygen getting into the water, this is unhealthy for the fish. This will be reported to the Environment Agency.
Only upside of the holiday was the Caravan. This was clean and well presented.
Would I return? Yes, but will fish and eat elsewhere.
Am hoping to return in September.

April 2016 "big Band Weekend"
Firstly may I say this is not the first time my wife and I have visited Trelawney. We should like to say the gold apartment we occupied was second to none and all the accommodation blocks are excellent. We chose the apartments rather than the Caravan accommodation as caravans tend to restrict movement for people our age.Accommodation then, and general service facilities, including dining, is very good. We were, however, very, very disappointed at the entertainment provided. We assumed rightly or wrongly that we should be able to sit down and listen to good old big band oldies, this, however, was not the case. Instead, we were subjected ti children running here there and everywhere during the performances this was very distracting and certainly did no favours for the artist or the big band performing. I am certainly no killjoy and have sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and love children but there is a time and a place? I understand that this is a holiday park and caters for both children and adults. I recently attended a similar special feature weekend at "Hayling Island" in Hampshire which stated adults only. This was far superior, both in production and entertainment in many ways. Finally, the holiday park and John Fowler parks are excellent and I have attended many over the years as many as six times. Sorry but the entertainment side was disappointing although the entertainers were really quite good under the circumstances.

Dont Book A Chalet
Smelly, so damp water running down the walls, even tnough we put the heaters on. Not all of them working. All aspects of the appartment filthy, black mould everywhere. Our clothes absorbed the damp. The furnishings need updating. Everything put onto the table stuck like glued. Sitting on the dining chairs felt like sitting on a comode .
the bed settees so old you were almost sitting on the floor. Utensils adequate. Water temperature fine. The shop on sight is very expensive, go to thr co op in looe. We travelled 9 hours for that. Will never use john fowler holidays again. I should have read reports before i booked. Will never take holiday companies on trust again.

Could Do Better...
I feel guilty leaving an average rating as so much of the site is much better than that, however it was let down in a few areas.
Upon arrival at our caravan we were struck with a musty, dog smell...and proceeded to visit Looe to get some Fabreeze, after borrowing a vac cleaner and giving the carpet a real going over(there was lots of dog hair still on the carpet) the van smelt fine and was clean and good value for money.
Most of the facilities were excellent and clean, we used the indoor and outdoor pool and found them excellent but the outdoor pool could do with a little bit of updating. The pool attendants really need to remember they are there to attend the pool and look after clients needs not to have a nice chat and be rude to people. During 1 period in the indoor pool the 2 attendants didnt look at the pool once in 20 minutes due to their own conversations and mobile phone use. When they were manning the outdoor pool they seemed to spend more time applying sun cream than anything else.
Chefs Corner food was good and staff were excellent and friendly.
The "entertainment" was truly terrible and the Foxy Club was beyond a joke, to see kids having their hair being messed with in the name of entertainment by a Stripey was a real low point, as for the dog racing...no comment is needed. All our daughters wanted to do was dance and have fun, but sadly fun and dancing were not on the agenda.
We played Crazy Golf and had fun despite the condition of the course, which desperately needs some money spending on it, the playground was in good condition.
The location, the grounds and most of the staff were excellent and the site shop was what you expect from a site shop.
I know this sounds negative, but really with a little bit of upgrading, some staff training and some thought into the entertainment this could be an outstanding site.

Filthy Chalet In Important Areas.
Kitchen and bathroom evidence of poor cleaning over many weeks/months (mould) Stale tomato under dining table and toothpaste under wash basin when we arrived. Smelled musty on arrival, had to open all windows. Entertainment and all facilities more for children not wrinklies. Staff not particularly friendly on check-in. Chalet not easy to access for people with disablement issues, but the bed was comfortable. The location itself is good, but only go there if your standards of cleanliness are of a somewhat indifferent nature.

Good Family Holiday
We booked the gold caravan and were able to take our dog which is very unusual. On arrival the check in process was quick and we had our keys 2 hours early. Our caravan was much better than we had expected it was like home from home! This is an excellent base if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing family holiday. Our children aren't really interested in the children's entertainment as they're a bit old for it however they enjoyed the park, swimming pools and amusements. The only downside is that the site isn't closer to a beach but we knew this before we arrived.
