Trevelgue Filthy Don't Book!!!!
I came for a holiday with my family on the 18th of August and booked the sapphire caravan at a cost of £600 odd pound! On arrival I picked up the keys and went to find the caravan. When I entered the smell of cigarettes smacked me in the face. We opened all the windows and had a look round. I could not even let my 22 month old baby in the van as I was afraid of her coming into contact with the muck and grime on the sofas. The van was absolutely disgusting and I was so disappointed. I went back to reception and complained and told her if I had to stay in that van I would rather go home. I asked if any other vans were available and she gave me the keys to a van which was supposedly of a higher standard than the one I had booked. Well it didn't smell of cigarettes and I could sit on the sofa but the cleanliness of the van was outrageous and I would suggest sacking the cleaners. On the second day my mother and I went to morrisons to buy cleaning products to clean the van. You could not see out of the windows and the bed linen smelt fusty and horrible. The night before we were due home a lot of other guests arrived and we were treated to puddles of vomit outside the van the next day, I couldn't even let my children out the van to play. I have never in all my life stayed in such a place and will never do so again. Word of mouth and social networking can ruin a business so I suggest you stop creaming the profits and start putting some of the money back into what could be a fantastic park!!!! At least Newquay had everything we needed but we will booking elsewhere next year.

Totally Dirty And Unhygienic
Brought my family down from scotland after having a great camping holiday last year in bude, cornwall, to find that trevelgue holiday park was totally over-rated and falsley advertised on their website. The shower blocks are revolting, and the toilets weren't cleaned until we complained, and still, there is human faeces and body hair everywhere. The park got took down last year due to flooding and still hasn't been replaced. The swimming pool is cold, and the tiles are that greasy, you could fry an egg on them! I strongly recommend that nobody goes here, especially with young children becuase it is so unhygienic.

Pleasantly Surprised! Cheap And Cheerful!
Booked and then read terrible reviews. Shouldn't have spent so much time worrying. Was nice and clean, friendly staff, big clean swimming pool, lovely views and scenery and the park is close to the gorgeous Porth Beach and a 5 min drive into Newquay town. We really enjoyed and I think people have only put bad experiences on here and not the good.
I'd go back and I think that speaks volumes.

Aweful Experience
Downsides : Very Dirty caravans (despite paying for an upgrade), unhelpful staff, cold pool.
Upsides : None.
DON'T GO !!!
Disgusted, Shocked, Disappointed!
Do not go to this camp site! I live locally and can honestly say that I am embarrassed to think that this accommodation is being offered, especially to people out of the county who will ultimately leave having a very bad impression of Cornwall.
I could write reams about the standard or non-standard of the accommodation and facilities but all the other reviews have said it all.
Please make your complaint official and contact the local council, maybe they can do something about it!

Worst Caravans Ever - Don't Go!
I went here a few months back for the Run to the Sun festival. We got to our caravan and found the following:
It smelt like dogs
Dog hairs all over the seats
Cigarette burns in the seats
Stains all over the carpets
Holes in the bathroom door
I did not make a complaint while there because we couldn't be bothered moving to another caravan after a 350 mile trip. I made a complaint when I returned home and they were completely useless. The customer service manager does not have a clue. They were not interested in what I had to say because "You didn't register a complaint on site". Great customer service eh!? Please, do not go. For the money it is not worth a penny and they do not care when you want to make a complaint.
By the way, ours was not the only one like this. We talked to loads of others staying there who said exactly the same - dirty, disgusting and out-dated caravans.

Don't Go At The Beginning Of The Season!
Travelling with my 2 sons age 12 and 10. We were all excited when we entered the site, great facilities, wonderful adventure playground which kept the boys occupied for hours.
However, On entering the caravan I was shocked by the dirtiness of the carpet in the lounge and warn fabric on the settee, but I accepted this knowing it was an old caravan. However, what I didn't expect was a wet carpet in the hallway, and a cooker which had had cleaner put in it, probably last season and never cleaned out!.Complaints to Recepton quickly got the leak looked at but maintainence couldn't solve it due to the gas boiler leaking and it needed a gas engineer to fix it. The carpet stayed damp all week. Then couldn't get the gas fire to light(called housekeeping who managed to get it to light, and suggested I didn't attempt to turn it off). Complained again on day 2, cooker still not cleaned, so had to go to the take away on site, wouldn't recommend it, and chose not to eat there again. Gas fire wouldn't light again in evening, maintanence came again, did a temporary job, but hardly any heat came out it, said I'd need the gas man again. Gas man came on day 3 and fixed the fire, still no clean cooker. Day 3 the carbon monoxide alarm went off- mainatnance said it was a dead battery, replaced it and all seemed well- but still no clean cooker. Day 4 the carbon monoxide alarm went off again, after reception had closed- told security, they suggested to take out the battery! Which I did. Day 5 time to check out- still no clean cooker!
Apart from the caravan we had a fantastic holiday, and it's only a short stroll uphill to the beach at Porth and a 10 min drive into Newquay! I hope if you stay in caravan 172 you have a better experience than we did!
Lovely Site But Dirty Caravan
This site is in a beautiful setting and has the caravans spread out well, not packed tightly together. Our caravan (139) had been cleaned well and the bathroom and kitchen were clean. However the carpet and upholstery in the living/dining room were disgusting - they were filthy, and very smelly. We complained but it took a request to speak to the manager on our second day, before anything was done - the carpet was shampooed while we were out. The smell of the shampoo was refreshing for that day, but the damp, fusty smell returned the next day.
The shower leaked out into the dining room every day that we were there, wetting the upholstery but nothing was done about it, despite several complaints. We have done £9.50 Sun holidays three times now and this was probably the prettiest site, but without doubt the worst caravan despite a £50 upgrade.

Shocking Caravans !!!!
After a three hour drive to get there, we booked in at reception to hear three families complaining to the receptionist about the state of their caravans. On arrival at our caravan (S5, beware this caravan)we opened the door to the unmistakable smell of damp, the carpet was filthy, as were the seat cushions, the walls had various pieces of ply covering damage done by previous occupiers and the kitchen was filthy.
When we went to reception to complain, along with many other families (one of which had been offered a bottle of flash!!!) i was told that everybodys standards are different!, i don't live in a dump so why would i want to holiday in one.We didn't stay!!!
A filthy site, if you want a clean, well run site in newquay please book HENDRA, you are guaranteed a good holiday in a clean caravan.
