Great Stadium

I love thus place and have been here on multiple occasions. It is an icon of London, the UK as well as for the world. The stewards are well-mannered and polite. The food is good but expensive (they all are at events anyways). The crowd management is good and makes you feel safe.

Rip Off

Having been to 79 stadiums around Europe over the years Wembley does not even come into my top 10, hers my reason why.

Ticket prices are shockingly high! For the League one play off final (3rd tier of English football) the FA want to charge me £88 for me and the wife and £37 for my 5-7yr old to get half decent seats or just a fraction less.

I paid silly before but I be doing again, so £250 for a family of 4 to watch a football match.

The match programme will cost me £5 then food and travel (I will travel 400 miles) so a ball park figure of around £400 for the day! No chance you greedy gits. Oh don't buy food in the ground either it's shocking quality with shocking service at shocking prices.

The stadium is based in a shocking area, you will be waiting in traffic for a few hours on your way in and redicolous hours getting out. Don't expect decent transport either because the 2 previous times I went the tube was shut just like every weekend.

If you wanna watch a game of football for a decent price in the capitals best ground go to the Emirates it puts Wembley to shame on price, atmosphere and comfort and view.

Just to correct some of your comments:

1. The FA didn't charge you for your seat, the prices for the play-off's are set by The Football League, not The FA. The Football League run and set the prices for play off finals.

2. It's not compulsory to purchase food in the ground, there are numerous outlets in Wembley High Road and more bars/restaurants are being built as we speak. The prices in the ground are comparable with most stadia in London.

3. The FA or Wembley are not responsible for running the tubes but they do liaise with TFL and one would hope that Boris and his cronies would ensure the tubes are running when there are events on in the capital.

Well It Was A Pretty Tidy Stadium But I Have Seen

well it was a pretty tidy stadium but i have seen better like brunton park. like where i was sitting was nothing like the paddock at brunton park, the atmosphere is electric there, also the southampton fans were plop. well all i can say is theres no match for the brunton pasty. also the toilets were pebbledashed at wembley, also i was floating in urine, brunton parks toilets are checked regularly every 4 minutes on a matchday. no plop in sight.

I Felt I Had To Comment Here To Counter The Overwh

I felt i had to comment here to counter the overwhelming bad reviews. I have visited Wembley twice, one for a test match with England under 16s and a few weeks ago to watch Muse. Both visits were fantastic. The stadium is like nothing else in this country or abroad, and retains the old magic with the mesmerising arch. the staff are well-organised and friendly, and whilst catering is expensive, it certainly didn't ruin my day and both events i attended have been fantastic, thanks in part to the brilliant surroundings. i love wembley and with the only downlfall being food prices, i can't wait to grab my next opportunity to visit with both hands!

The Stadium On The Outside Looks Good, Modern. In

The stadium on the outside looks good, modern. Inside? terrible. it still looks unfinished. Whats the point in having a retractable roof if it doesnt cover the pitch? Also, the seats? all red and boring. the least they sould have done is designed 3 lions in the seating or even the St georges flag! would have looked neather and had a more English feel to it. The "WEMBLEY" behind the goal lools like kids have put the seats in. the roof? still looks unfinished and like a building site. Metal everywhere. should be futuristic and smooth. Look at the quality of the south african stadiums. modern, and smooth. Also the royal box is not so royal. got to walk up loads of stairs! at least the VIPs should have leather seats. then there is the metal "things" on the side of the pitch. seriously... who has that??? and lastly, the old wembley had magic. the pitch... the red carpet. where is the red carpet in this wembley? the romance in this wembley is dead and is definately NOT the home of football. I could have designed this Wembley and it would have a hell of a lot of English feel to it.

Having Only Visited For Most Of The England Footba

having only visited for most of the England football games I can only comment on the fanatsic acoustics of the cheering and unfortunately some booing. Access is easy and have enjoyed unobscured views from all over the stadium. The catering is expensive - but at the competitive FIFA & EUFA matches there is no watery carlsberg onsale anyway (ruling) so dont get there early to enjoy a pre-match pint or two.

Overpriced Food And Drinks. Terrible Choice On Off

Overpriced food and drinks. Terrible choice on offer. £4.00 for a carlsberg (Basically poor quality fizzy liquid). You can't get water unless you pay...bloody cheeky.

The catering area and walkways are as dull and uninspiring as an airport lounge. At least the pitch is as close as it can be and the sound in the actual stadium is amazing.

However, I just get the feeling that you are being fleeced. Which is appropriate. The management treat you like sheep and hope that you won't complain about the lack of anything that someone would normally eat or drink if they weren't forced to.

If you go there. Get food and drink before you go. Complain that they won't give water for free. Make a fuss and stop being a sheep.
