Avoid Like The Plague
I bought my Karrimor Hot Rocks just over a year ago, but because we had fairly decent weather, I didn't really use them for any serious walking until September, when I started using them for daily dog walks. So sadly the warranty has noe expired. Now after 4 months of fairly light use the soles are coming unglued and they leak like a sieve. Not what you expect with a RRP of £109 Definitely won't be buying this brand again.

Quick Release Soles !
Bought a pair of Hotrock boots Spring 2023 and have walked maybe 50 dry, summer miles in them. I can already see that the soles on both boots are starting to separate from the body of the boot itself.
This is the second pair of Hotrock boots I have owned. The first pair did last reasonably well, but again suffered the the same fate as the second pair when the soles ' Buick released'. The main body of the boots stood up to the miles I covered and remained comfortable and more or less waterproof. All to no avail when the soles pated company.
Built to a price point, but even so I cannot recommend due to the shoddy construction.

Very Poor Quality
Bought a brand new pair of mens size 14 karrimor Hot Rocks walking boots, both soles parted company with the boot 2 weeks from new, I dont know what they use for glue, but it's not fit for purpose, stay away from these boots, you'll not be happy, I'm certainly not.
I encountered the same problem. Ist pair lasted for I suppose a decent amount of use before sole seperation. Unwisely I thought this was a one off and bought a second pair. Only lasted for approx 50 miles of low level dry walking before tell tale signs of sole seperation appeared. Useless

My Second Pair
These boots are very comfortable, have good water resistance but fall to pieces within a year with just light daily dog walking.

Not Waterproof!
On the plus side these boots are incredibly comfortable. Although they are quite a wide fit (and I have narrow feet) they don't feel like they moving around once they're laced up well. If ordering online bear in mind they are quite small in length. I'm a 9.5 - 10 in most shoes and trainers but had to get an 11.
Now the bad bit and the reason they get 1 star. They're as waterproof as a sieve. If you step in a puddle even briefly that reaches the lowest part of the lace they leak. You immediately feel your toes going cold and damp!
They're cheap (seem to always be 'half price' at £40) but if you want to walk anywhere in the UK and keep your feet dry these aren't for you. Spend a bit more and get something decent.

Unbeatable (for The Price)
I walk on average four miles a day on my commute to and from work and so choosing expensive shoes that would have the soles worn out on two months was not going to happen. When I first tried the Karrimor boots I was apprehensive at the price, £45 just seemed to cheap to last and were they really waterproof?
In short, they are brilliant. They are very comfortable and give good support, are fantastic for daily walking and even more extreme hikes. Completely waterproof too until they started to fall apart.
I found that the soles started to wear out after about three to four months and this was about the same time that it started to fall apart, the waterproofing continued to work but the stitching especially around the mid part of the foot where it flexes started to break, the gaps then let in water.
I have now had half a dozen pairs and I will continue to purchase them as they really are excellent value for money. Yes you can get better, but you have to pay double or triple the price.

Worst Ever Walking Boots
these boots were an exchange for some other karrimor boots as the left one let wet in......the first walk in these boots was a short 4 mile one.....4 miles too far....the flexible padding on the back heel of the right one killed after 1 mile with 3 more to go....on removing these boots at the end of the walk my left foot felt as tho it had had the hell squeezed out of it.....don't go near.
