The triple motor is a peach loads of grunt in the mid range power where you need it a great handling bike two and a good looking bike two !!I have ridden 400 miles in the saddle quite a lot and its very comfortable . The bad points seat is a poor fit held on by 2 screws , gearbox a bit notchy dash lay out figures a bit small and the hard luggage not big enough for a crash helmet and that's it !! triumph don't make them any more its a shame most st owners would buy another one I would another point is they are good on fuel 2 all in all a great all round bike will do every thing you want it will tour and ride the a roads 2 have in had a Honda vfr the sprint is a better bike !!

The Best Part Of Riding The Bike Is The Engine, Go

The best part of riding the bike is the engine, good flexibility and performance throughout the rev range. The bike handles reasonably well although the forks are way too soft, especially when two up. I've recently rode to Italy and achieved 200 miles between refuelling. I found the handling reasonably good but a little ponderous on twisty mountain roads. This was frustrating when Hornet 600's could easily leave me for dead. The lack of rebound adjustment was limiting. It faired well as a high speed autoroute cruiser. It could have been comfier, I was ready for a break every 100 miles with gel seat.Lights are appauling, even with the relay fitted. I've had reliability issues which shouldn't really happen sub 30k miles. The bike needed a new spragg gear/clutch at only 20K and a new alternator at 29k. (Both costing over £400 to repair). I'm not impressed and will go german or japanese for the next bike. (FJR1300?)

This Is My Second Triumph Sprint St. I Have Had Sp

This is my second Triumph Sprint ST. I have had Sportsbikes in the past, but didnt want to join the ranks of the GS boys. This has all the practicality of a touring bike with panniers and top box, but all the fun of a sportsbike when let loose. I have taken this to Le Mans on full camping holiday and into the mountains of Northern Spain two up ( a must place to visit) and naturally around the British Isles. Superb. Very reliable and comfortable. It much prefers the twisty stuff, but is just as at home on the motorways eating up the miles with ease. We are planning a trip to the arctic circle in Norway next year.

I constantly see 48 mpg and never ease back on the throttle. I admit fully to being proud to ride British, but on this occassion it really does take some beating.

The headlights are not brilliant, but that would be the only real complaint.

Mine is a 2009 model with ABS and loads of carbon in deep Blue. The bike regularily turns heads, but this was never the reason for buying, It was bought for practicality and fun, never for it's looks!

I can recommend this bike new or second hand.

I found this review very helpful because it tells me what I want to know about owning a Sprint ST.It tells me that it is a good tourer including two up and importantly what sort of mpg it returns whilst using the bikes power as intended. It is whatever you want it to be, a good handling sports bike or a tourer. The review came over as being genuine and to the point regarding the practicalities, advantages and some disadvantages with the bike.Just what a potential purchaser wants to know.

The Sprint Format Had Been Around For Some Years W

The Sprint format had been around for some years when Triumph released the 2005 Sprint ST with revised plastics and a beefier 1050cc engine in its tried and proven 3-cylinder configuration. With contemporary looks hosting new meaner looking headlights and 125 bhp this was a winning package based on the 995cc platform.

A true sports tourer that can be fanged through that favourite winding road with ease pulling on the immense torque available or taken on a multi-day cruise. On a long-haul the sitting position is comfortable while still sporty. Handle bar riser kits are available but the slight forward position places weight on the wrists but not excessively and with experiences of up to 8 hours in the saddle, I have not found it uncomfortable.

The Sprint's performance is lively for its size and weight but a capable rider can surprise those would-be guys on CBR and Kawasaki 600's. Punch it off the line and you will find the front wheel in the air. Keep pushing on and the power keeps delivering up to the 9,500 rev limit.

Yep, Triumph go this format right and should not mess with it too much as demonstrated with the release of the 2011 Triumph Sprint GT. A few new developments have appeared but I feel that some added technology such as upside down forks and perhaps a ungraded dash would have stayed true to the model while adding value.

It's great value for money and I will be cruising my way to a dealer to negotiate a trade on a new GT in the near future.

Good All Round Bike That Looks Good And Is Practic

Good all round bike that looks good and is practical. Mines just over a year old in black. Pull is fantastic either solo or two up. Engine sounds wonderful and reacts perfectly. Suspension is easy to adjust, the factory settings are too firm for my liking but following the user hand book, it's so easy to set-up. Having lived with the bike now for a couple of thousand mile the niggles are as follows; It is top heavy for slow speed manoeuvres, nothing to worry about, but a little odd to start off with. Once you're moving it all disappears.

The fairing is poorly fitted with odd gaps between mating faces. Indicators stop working with heavy rain. Gear box is not the best, difficult to select neutral and I have had missed gearing on three occasions, normally when you accelerate very quickly.

Triumph heated grips are a waste of money, they barely get warm, save your money and buy after market ones.

I would buy another one if the build quality improved, the engine was upgraded (1200 would be nice) and the gear box was totally revamped. After all this, I think its still a great bike to ride and looks superb.

Without Doubt The Best Bike I Have Ever Had. Beaut

Without doubt the best bike I have ever had. Beautiful to look at, comfortable and fast...very forgiving. Leans like my old R1, and goes almost as well in a straight line.

Two up in comfort, the paniers are okay...shame that 2 helmets cannot be accomodated. I miss the under seat storage and lack of helmet hooks, Rubber foot rest insert wears, and dont leave the metalwork dirty as it discolours.

Love looking at it, sitting on it and riding it.....the best of British. Better than my mates VFRs on every level.

This Is My Second Triumph Sprint St 1050 In The La

This is my second Triumph Sprint St 1050 in the last 3 years. Although my ego wants me to own a GSX-R thou and i have had two of these in the same period, the Triumph is by far the more usuable bike for comfort and power delivery in the real world.

I think Triumph should be looking to give the ST a bit of a facelift, which is now due, especially with the new VFR 1200 on the horizon.

Other than that I can't fault the bike. The engine lives up to the write ups you will have read. The general handling and high speed stability are both excellent.

Having swapped and changed between suzuki- triumph - suzuki and now back to triumph, it would take something special for me to change again.

If your not quite ready for a full on tourer and still want a bit of exitement, but like the comfort I would say you won't go far wrong with the ST.

At £8k with the panniers chucked in (+ £1000 worth of exrra's when I bought the second one) it was a bargain !

Looking For A Daily Communter (riding In All Weath

Looking for a daily communter (riding in ALL weathers) and something that is capable of hitting the road on long hauls in the UK I was convinced by the the sales patter to support British jobs and by a Triumph Sprint ST. How I regret that decision now!

The bad list isn't huge but it is important. The gearbox is dire. It was replaced after just 9 weeks and still fails to engage lower gears or sticks in 1st in traffic. The electrics are mainly ok although a heavy downpour eliminates the use of indicators.

The build quality is loose at best. The old problem of cheap rubber components still hasn't been solved by Triumph.

The good points? It is a head turner and certainly looks the business. The power is on demand and the suspension is soft.

As a stand alone bike it is average at best, but put it up against the Japanese competition and Triumph has a long journey to go toe to toe on quality.

Still The Best All Rounder On The Market Despite T

Still the best all rounder on the market despite the recent improvemnets in Honda's VFR. Supremely comfortable over longer hauls for a sports/tourer. This is not a floating armchair favoured by more mature sensible types, but even with the standard seat you can expect to dismount after a couple of hundred miles without collapsing in a heap on the pavement.

The power range is simply phenomenal with seemingly effortless smooth delivery in any gear. The handling is also very forgiving for a biggish bike and won't require Rossiesque reactions to avoid the ocassional hole or bump in the road. Once this thing gets into the higher rev range it becomes far more sports than tourer and that glorious noise emanates from one of the best looking rears outside of California. I can't praise this bike highly enough and only the points mentioned in the negative section stop me from giving it all ten points.
