Awesome Bike, Light And Powerful
I picked up a used 01 200 exc a few months back and have been nothing but impressed. It has plenty of low end grunt for steep technical hills, and if you get on the pipe it screams. The great part is that with an FMF Gnarly pipe on it the power is nice and smooth, it doesn't have a scary hit that makes it hard to control in the tight stuff. The bike is light and easy to throw around in trails as well. Over all I love it and plan on riding it until it dies. I can't really say I dislike anything about it.

I've Owned Everything From 50cc Learners To 1200cc
I've owned everything from 50cc learners to 1200cc sports bikes but got sick of dodging speed cameras so turned to the off road scene to try to get my kicks. Bought a R1100GS as a road bike and just bought the KTM200EXC for a bit of hoolying around.
I'd ridden the bike a few times on road and once off road. Then I headed for Wales on 3 days of serious off road riding. The 4 friends, all with some off roading experience, I went with had mainly 250 four strokes and one 450 v twin Aprillia but the KTM was never outclassed, I was the limiting factor here and when I handed the bike over to the better riders in the group it was easily able to keep up with or pass the others.
The 200 has a surprising amount of grunt at lowish revs but wind on the throttle and the exhaust develops a howl and tries to tear your arms off. The suspension is amazing, I weigh 14.5 stone and the bike coped easily. We went on trails that were as good as gravel tracks right down to the nitty gritty of muddy, rutted trails with 2 to 3 feet of water in places. Stony tracks that would test a Sherman tank were passed easily. Steep climbs that would test you on foot let alone on 2 wheels and the bike never failed to cope and easily went through everything even when I binned it in the water I picked it up again and it kicked over first time.
Simply put if you want a light very, very capable off roader that won't let you down then this the beast for you. It can pootle along with the best of them but wind that throttle open and it will give you the thrill of your life every time.

This Is An Awesome Bike!! Great For Everything. Ho
This is an awesome bike!! great for everything. However i have had a problem, Does anyone else's exaust spray right onto the right hand side indicator? because mine has melted... Not that this is a problem for me because it still works and I remove all of my indicators anyway. One thing i was very surprised about was the starting, this bike starts first kick even if it has not had use for weeks! amazing haha

Great bike. Hard to say. I have not found anything horriable about the bike but I also have not had it for very long. I got mine used but the price seems a little high.
