They Could Not Be Any Worse!

They processed my claim and deducted the excess in error. The policy clearly shows an excess waiver so they didn’t check.

17 days and they haven’t replied to my email.

No communication at all.

Have referred it back to my insurer and made the point that this reflects badly on them.

Evidently they don’t care about customer service and are woefully understaffed

Words Fail Me!

I took out this insurance via Booking. I’d booked a non refundable hotel for 7 nights so thought it wise to insure against unforeseen circumstances. A close relative died and I had to not only attend the funeral but take the service.

They demanded a death certificate which I obtained with much embarrassment. They then said that did not suffice because the relative had died of a pre-existing mediaeval condition. Most people die of a pre-existing medical condition but that doesn’t mean it’s not unexpected.

My advice, don’t touch this insurance with a barge pole and the agent on booking for being associated with them.

Would Rather No Insurance Than Have Cover With Csal

As the Heading states no insurance is better than having a policy with this company

You email they dont reply

you call for a update they can't tell you anything

they ask for info.. you provide it they ask for something else when your provide all paper work then they stop emailing and just leave you in limbo in the hopes you stop the claim or give up

You contact the main company who you got insurance with in this case its sainsburys they want no part in it they take your money and thats it a 3rd party takes over CSAL

When i said avoid this company. this insurance i mean avoid tell any one dont buy a policy with them its a worthless piece of paper check other recent reviews you will see the same issues

Absolutely Useless Organisation

If I could give zero stars I would, this incompetent and unprofessional organisation don't even bother reading these reviews. It is a faceless organisation you speak to a telephone line who cannot put you through to the person who has sent you an email. Emails are deleted before being read, not only once but 6 times, at least. This organisation is not at all customer focused if I could swear on here I would. Difuclt to answer if my claim has been settled as I have had 2 different emails so goodness knows when I will be paid out

Classified As Incompetent

CSA are an intermediary company handling claims for various insurnce broker and companies. They appear to be understaffed by junior employees who take forever and a day to answer your call. They are polite and friendly in all fairness but are unable to progress anything, just look for some excuse as to why there is a delay with some other intermediary.

So do they perform a useful function? Who Knows, but if they do they perform it badly. Of course like so many ueseless companies, no manager is ever available to speak to you! Funny that isn't it?

CSA has just over a 1 star rating which I consider somewhat flattering to them, as 1 star is the lowest rating available to give and not the zero they deserve. Yet they seem impervious to this as opposed to the shame most companies would feel. I suppose their rating says more than any words I could use.

Csal Unfit For Purpose

The policy was taken out by Allclear(voted no 1 for travel insurance!!!)

It was taken out by my late mum who sadly passed away a week before travelling. The premium was nearly £600 to Allclear. The holiday cost £1700. 8 months later CSAL are still avoiding paying out on this claim despite having the registration of death, the death certificate, the original booking invoice, cancellstion booking form, acknowledgement from the airline of no show/cancellation and a GP report they demanded at a cost to me. They have had the documents by post and by email and still keep saying they are not in receipt of everything. They are now asking for probate - claim is £1700 bloody pounds for christ sake. Dealing with the death of a loved one upsetting enough without having to deal with a bunch of unworthy, unprofessional individuals who think it is funny to fob you off. Watchdog notified - if anyone else has this claim handler pass on your details to a representative. They will give you excuses and delay tactics continually.

DO NOT use an insurance company who use CSAL to handle claims

Pass your claim back to who you paid for them to deal

Report to the financisl ombudsman to investigate and resolve your case

Q&A

csal

How long should I expect for my travel insurance policy to be replied to? On way back from tel Aviv flight was cancelled and we had to book a new flight. If a reply is not forthcoming would it help to apply to small claims court as the reviews for csl appear to be a abysmal service? And I’m not expecting any miracles through the process.

Advice please.
