Does This Model 10538g Cannon Stratford Has Ffd

I am not sure if this cooker has FFD. This cooker flame safety device, how it suppose to work i am not sure. I heard once you have lit the oven and after 10 minutes if you slow it down the bypass should goes to low flame. This works fine.

What it does not work is when you cut off the gas supply while oven is on, the flame safety device does not cut off total gas supply because when you re-light after few minutes the slow flame comes on. Does it mean the flame safety device is not working and it needs replacing. (FSD) Flame safety device suppose to click within 60 seconds but it never click so nor sure what this model suppose to do. Please let me know.

Don't Buy - Its Unsafe And Not Fit For Purpose!

Having bought this cooker, it arrived with 1 burner ignition not working which I had to fix myself. Ever since then, the oven burner keeps intermittently going out while cooking. The first you know is when you smell gas and have to rush in to turn it all off as it does not cut off the gas automatically. Meanwhile the food goes cold. It has to be re-lit to continue, so you could never go out leaving this unsafe appliance on, and have to continually check its still alight when cooking. Its too difficult to contact Cannon or get any useful help, so buy a different make. You have been warned!

Cannon - Impossible To Deal With

Over the years we have owned two Cannon range cookers. With our new kitchen almost complete we researched on line and decided that the Cannon Traditional 100 dual fuel range cooker would fit the bill perfectly. At a price in excess of £1,100 it was not a purchase we were prepared to make without seeing one first. IMPOSSIBLE!!. Firstly, we tried Curry's, then John Lewis, B&Q, Homebase no joy at any. We tried Rangecookers in Chester and Built in Kitchen Appliances in Liverpool still no joy. We phoned Cannon head office asking for the name of a stockist with a cooker on display. After being put through to SIX different departments we discovered that Cannon head office don't know of any!!. At this point we decided to make a complaint through Cannon customer services. No joy there either, the computer was "down" and I would have to call back!! See what I mean about IMPOSSIBLE!! It looks as though Rangemaster will be getting our business after all.

Cannon Stratford

Wished I'd seen other reviews before buying. Oven keeps cutting out for no apparent reason. Obviously a fault in design or cheap parts.

Now looking to buy new cooker after just 2 years use of the Stratford.

Not Fit For Purpose

I totally agree with the other reviewers. In our experience, the front of the door actually came away in my partners hands. She was lucky not to have been scalded. My official complaint to Cannon was efectivel ignored. I replaced the interior bracket and refitted the door, but it is showing signs of weakening again. In my opinion, the oven door handle should be vertical and not horizontal, as this would reduce the stress on the flimsy brackets. I have noticed that the newer models have since been modified. Don't waste your money.

This Is The Worst Oven I Have Ever Owned...it Cons

this is the worst oven i have ever owned...it consantly cuts out, thats if you can get it to ignite in the first place, the oven door keeps coming loose and now the whole glass frontage has fallen off.

A terrible design, the front glass panel is only held on by two alliminum piece's that are only a maximum of 2 mm...how ridiculus is that, to hold something of that weight.

I personally think they should of been recalled as they are dangerous.

If your thinking of buying this product....DONT DO IT!!!!

Thank you to all those who took the time and made the effort to write a review. I am so sorry that this product has caused so much distress. I have been watching one on eBay but in the circumstances I will not be bidding on it.

This is exactly the sort of thing the small claims court is for. It should be a fairly simple matter to get a judgement as the process is relatively quick, cheap and uncomplicated. The procedure is informal and there is much info about the net on it.

Thanks again to the reviewers.

Every thing you wrote is so accurate!! I'm sick of screwing the door back on again! The final straw was yesterday when I went to put the Sunday roast in the oven & the glass frontage fell off and shattered at my feet! Been searching everywhere and I still can't find a replacement door!!!

We Have Had The Cannon "stratford" Oven About 18 M

We have had the Cannon "Stratford" Oven about 18 months and have experienced the same issues as the other reviewers. Essentially, the gas cuts off which I initially thought was because of poor supply. I have since discovered that it is a "safety" feature!

However, the main issue I have is with the oven door. It has always been temperamental and this this evening, the outer skin came away in my partners hands!

It was a harrowing experience, particularly as our grandchildren were in the vicinity at the time and the interior skin was obviously red hot.

This is the first time that I have used a "Cannon" product and it will be the last!

I Had My Cannon Stratford For Just Over 2 Years Wh

I had my cannon stratford for just over 2 years when a fault developed. The oven just wouldn't stay lit. Cannon wanted about £100 just to come out and look at it! I couldn't afford this so I bought a new thermocouple on Ebay for £10 approx. and fitted it myself, it worked fine for a week or so then the same fault developed again, the oven wouldn't stay lit. I bought a 2nd replacement thermocouple and fitted it but the same fault developed again. Wish I'd never bought this cooker. I now have to use a big lump of wood to wedge the oven knob in to keep the burner lit, crude but it works. I bought cannon as I thought it was a good make but I'll never buy another one.
