Hob Either On Or Off, Impossible To Set Low Temperature
The title basically says it all. The cooker and hob *look* quite nice, and the removable door glass is a nice touch. But the controls are poor quality, with the clock / timer buttons in particular sticking and seizing. The hob is the worst feature though, with absolutely no possibility to control it -- setting 1 is as raging hot as setting 8. The halogen is as bad as the ceramics. The service & support low mark is given because no owner's guide is available on their website.
Rubbish Knobs
My gas control knobs are in my view not fit for purpose. Customers are buying spares on a regular basis at inflated prices. This is a rip off. I would never purchase Stoves products again. When my third set of knobs disintegrate, the product will be replaced by a fit for purpose product from a reputable manufacturer - not Stoves

Beyond Poor !!!
The hob either boils or takes an age to heat....there is no chance to simmer.
And it's ridiculous to have a grill with one temperature, there is no shield for the knobs either. It's a cheap and nasty work of absolutely no use to any-one who actually cooks and doesn't wing it. The designers were obviously away on holiday at the time this rubbish was ok'd for production !!!

Poor Quality Product
This cooker is dreadful for price paid, £600 knobs broke in 3months plates are all full on no regulation just three years on,
we had the choice of this one or hot point at £300 may as well have gone for that, could have bought another if it failed with the extra £ 300 I spent on the stove, more money does not mean better cooker
I liked the look of it. Wish I hadn't gone for looks.weve only had two cookers in fifty years before this one looks like we chose badly this time
We did our research, the company looked good, the salesman assured us it was worth the extra as a quality product,.
Wrong.
We took out extra plan, but it was mis sold so I had no comeback,

Control Knobs On 61ehdo
Avoid this stove at all costs. After spending £600 on it I have had to purchase new knobs every six months at a cost of £24 for 3, so far this has cost me £200. The problem is they are plastic and snap. I would never purchase this make again

Absolute Rubbish Avoid
Had this cooker for nearly four years and luckily had the sense to take out extended cover on second set of tacky plastic knobs and all four rings seem to have one setting which is take forever to heat up but then just boil it does not seem to understand simmer. This was my second stoves oven and I am sorry I replaced the first one the only problem I had was the gold transfers identifying which ring you where choosing had worn away. Stoves seem to think they can trade on their good name of the past selling rubbish like this at high prices they won't be able to for much longer I will certainly be voting with my feet when the warantee runs out
Control Knobs On Stoves 61dot Cooker
I have recently purchased a Stoves cooker as it ticked all the boxes and made in the UK, but unfortunately the good have now been out weighed by the bad .
The problem I have is with the knobs, when you have both ovens on the knobs become so hot you need to use oven gloves to turn the hob knobs on.
I contacted Stoves, who duly sent out an engineer, all he said was the cooker complies to EU regs.
I have now emailed Stoves now on 3 occasions complaining of the design fault without any satisfactory answer.
I recomend that you "DO NO BUY THIS COOKER"!
Avoid At All Cost
Four years in and all of the cheap plastic knobs are cracked and falling off. Also, the grill / top oven element is cracked in three places and is falling off. Cheap, shoddy construction - do not buy. I'll never buy a Stoves product again.
I now have one control left on my hob, out of 5, they have all cracked & split, cheap bit of plastic. The first one that cracked i got a replacement £20. Yes & that one cracked soon afterwards. I totally agree avoid Stoves like the plaque.

Shoddy
To be fair, the Stoves free-standing cooker was included when we bought the house. However, it was in perfect condition as it was almost new then, part of a full and fairly expensive kitchen refurbishment completed to sell the house.
The control knobs are poor quality plastic and after a year half are broken. Replacements cost over £7 each! The cooker surface scratches very easily, and the top oven has stopped working. Apart from that.....!
Unfortunately I can't think of many redeeming features. I'd expected a lot better from a well known and I thought quality brand.

Stoves Not What They Used To Be
I have owned several Stoves Ovens in the past.
Our latest purchase was the Electric Stoves 61 ehdo.
This was not a cheap oven by any means however I was happy to pay the premium in a trusted name like Stoves. All my previous ovens were excellent but sadly this model falls far short in terms of quality, reliability and performance.
As other reviewers have stated the knobs do indeed all break and crack within the first 12 months.
The glass top cooking surface of the oven scratches very easily and looks shoddy after a few months of usage.
To top that off on my oven all the heat rings now only operate on full maximum heat even when they are set on low, suggesting that the regulators have now packed up too as they have each gone one by one just a few months apart.
The oven is very erratic in temperature, sometimes too hot sometimes too cool.
I basicaly have a large lump of steel in my kitchen that only a scrap metal merchant would love to own.
Not a good purchase in my opinion and not what Stoves used to be.
Stay away is my only advice.
