Stoves 700GR-SS

Stoves 700GR ss - Had this Oven for about 3 years now and it's been nothing but trouble from day one. First problem was the fan guard was rubbing on the fan in the bottom oven making a chiming noise, Stoves came out as the oven had just been fitted - They dropped a screw in the door hinge then they bent the door trying to force it shut with the screw jamming the hinge. They tried to say they didn't bend the door but, Eventually agreed they did and it would be replaced - Another guy was sent to replace the door and the top control panel as that was scratched but, he broke the glass in the new one so it never got fitted.

All was ok for a while then the glass in the rotostar guards fell out and jammed up the rotostar burners (again a very poor design as the heat from the burners heats the metal tabs until the weight of the glass disks bends them and the glass drops out. I modified them to stop this happening. Now the oven sometimes won't light half way thru cooking something - This is due to a defective pressure switch in the oven case which monitors that the case fan is running - Again a very poor design - Why didn't they use a small rev counter or an inductive sensor on the fan itself (it would be far more reliable.)

If you want an Oven that works for years without going wrong - Look for something else. I would never buy one again and I wished I had bought something else now.

I love my Stoves 700GR-SS, it is a superb piece of kit combining the benefits of a turbofan (usually in electric only) type of system with the controllability of gas!
