Dangerous Design & Unreliable
Clearly not a well thought out design that would not go to market today for a host of reasons, not least health & safety issues.
Constant melting front knobs, no safe option offered by Dimplex. Front convection is hopeless with the vents indelibly burning the front facia. Constant sparking of both ignition systems is alarming. Upper grill has no gas adjustment just on/off. Timer/clock runs as it wants has a mind of it's own. Never used the timer for fear of it doing the same.
Stoves Dimplex call them what you will, have no apparent interest in addressing the serious flaws in the design of the 700DGO my advice is to avoid this oven at all costs
The Worst Oven Ever
Like all the rest our knobs have melted, we are also on our second lot (at our expense) which also melted after just 1 use. We are so disappointed and think that the control panel getting that hot is really dangerous. Needless to say we will not be buying Stoves again!

Stoves 700gdo Visual Attraction The Only Good Thing About It
This cooker may look great but it is appalling and impractical in every other way. Cakes and pies do not cook evenly, the heating is pushed out of the sides and the top of both ovens so when you're using the hob to cook it is a very hot experience and dangerous. The cupboards each side of my cooker have been singed because of this. Also it is a nightmare to clean. You cannot keep the lights on to see what you are doing so have to use a torch and there are parts which would have to be unscrewed before you use oven cleaner. The knobs have had to be replaced several times due to melting and I have had three repairs in the last five years. At the moment the back right burner will not light and I have been waiting for three months now for a part which I am now told will be here in November as it has to be made abroad!! You expect the best when you pay so much. Never buy one of these!!!!!!!!!
Poor Quality
In 5 years have had 3 heater elements, 3 fans, 2 valve blocks, 1 grill, and a number of circuit boards. The stoves engineer now tells me that when you are cooking and the ovens switch off themselves, and spoil your food, just disconnect the electrics for 30 minutes, it should start again, and not to worry this is normal. So spoil food and inconvienience is acceptable to Stoves. What a farce.

Do Not Buy This Oven - Waste Of Money
We bought this oven 2 years ago as we liked the way it looked, ironically we had bought the exact same oven 5 years before that and had nothing but trouble with it.
The first time we bought this oven the knobs peeled within a couple of months, we spoke to the manufacturers and they sent us replacement knobs twice as the same kept happening. In the end after several calls they sent out an engineer who altered the fan in the top oven/grill and the problem with the peeling knobs ceased.
So 2 yaears ago we decided to buy a new oven with stoves as we assumed they had rectified the problem on their new ovens only to have the same problem with the knobs and lots of extra problems on top.
First of all the knobs melted, next as others have said the doors became unaligned, the flame blows out if you shut the door too quickly causing dangerous fumes and the grill/top oven and some of the plates don't light properly (we have to blow into the oven to light it or use a gas lighter.
All i can say is AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Love The Looks Of This Double Oven But Wish I Had
Love the looks of this double oven but wish I had read the reviews before parting with my cash. I am now onto my second pair of control knobs and they have melted too, heating to such a dangerous level that I almost blisted my fingers. The grill ignition sparks continuously and the oven kicks out so much heat to the outside that its a wonder any stays within the oven to cook the food.

We Have Had This Oven For Just Two Years. Like All
We have had this oven for just two years. Like all the other reviewers we have had problems with melting control knobs and poor performance from the grill. Looks good but don't be fooled. Stoves no longer exist and the name has been bought by some mickey mouse outfit. Our previous Stoves cooker was brilliant with years of trouble free service. We will replace the whole lot with something more reliable. We will be consulting Trading Standards.
I found this review very helpful because... I shall no longer purchase one!

You buy because it is a great name and looks so stylish.
It fails to deliver in any practical sense. Is dangerous due to the excessive heat it throws out and the constant re-igniting of the flame.
Don't touch - a total waste of money and I'm extremey disappointed.

I have had this Oven for just over a year. The control knobs have melted with the heat and we have had numerous replacements. The fan has now broken down and it is no longer under guarantee. The flames from the grill lick out and have nearly burnt my eye brows on numerous occasions. Trading standards have been informed and I am awaiting their response. A poor piece of equipment. I would never recommend this oven to anyone.
I found this review very helpful because I only wish I had read it before spending so much money on an item that is guaranteed to disappoint.
It is a stylish oven that does not have the practical ability to 'cook'.
I now have the position of having to buy a new oven after less than 2 years service.
Surly this is an oven not fit for purpose!
Q&A
My oven is not working, there is no power on the clock. What should I do?
