I wish I had read the reviews, good (some of which are suspiciously adulatory) and bad, before ordering. It is much better to see how a company behaves when things go wrong rather than when things go well. It is clear from other reviews here that the company is not customer friendly. I ordered several clematis from Taylor's. After a few months one failed...it had not survived the winter frosts in spite of being advertised as fully hardy. When I contacted the company for a replacement or refund they didn't want to know emphasizing that it was impossible for them to consider complaints after 14 days of purchase and putting the failure down to every possible circumstance rather than to their own plant's failings. I have bought many plants over the years and they have rarely failed. On the couple of previous occasions when a plant did fail I have had a refund without a problem. It is clear that Taylor's, once it has your money (and the plants are not cheap), is not interested in the customer. So my advice is avoid.

I received a damaged plant (severed from its roots) and notified the company the next day as per their terms and conditions, but I received no response. I chased them after one month; they explained that they “have used the same box” for “over 40 years” and, therefore, the plant couldn’t have been damaged in transit; therefore, the fault must lie with myself. After I responded, stating that I had followed their terms and conditions, I again received no response.

My experience appears consistent with other reviewers, both with a lack of response or if responding, blaming customers with a rude and arrogant tone. Due to this poor customer service and a lack of honouring their terms and conditions, I strongly advise potential customers not to use this company.

Really well packed and great quality plants. Would definitely recommend.

I bought 2 of Broughton Star. One died with a fortnight and the other just "faded " away slowly. I have never lost a Clematis in 50 years of gardening. Definitely not worth the money stick to buying cheap ones at least they lived. I did write and ask if they could help but NO help given or offered being a pensioner £35 for 2 plants was awful.

The only good thing about it was the packaging was good.

I purchased a Madame Julia Correvon.

It took ages to arrive and 3 weeks later it was dead.

I've 4 other varieties in my garden, and, all thriving.

Great disappointment.

Obviously there are delays at this time, but my orders are arriving on the selected

dates. Good plants, great service.

I just bought 3 clematis from Taylors. They were delivered yesterday and were really healthy, beautifully packed, 1 was in flower and 1 was budding. All were a decent size and I'm really pleased and would highly recommend Taylors. They were friendly and helpful when I placed the order, even allowing me to add to it. The plants were delivered a day earlier than expected so that was great!
